A worthwhile read

Scotland, a country that once ranked among Europe's poorest, generated some of the great thinkers of the 18th century. This book records the important contributions Scotts such as Adam Smith, David Hume, James Boswell, and James Watt have made to Western education, science, history, and political thought. A bit over the top, but spinkled with wonderful anecdotes throughout.
