This is the debut album from five piece New York outfit Scissor Sisters. Formed by lead singer Jake Shears and multi-instrumentalist Babydaddy the band play a bizarre mix of New York punk and glam rock while being heavily influenced by thelikes of Roxy Music and David Bowie through to Giorgio Moroder and even rock operas. The singles 'Laura' and the Pink Floyd cover 'Comfortably Numb' are also included.

) Bouncy, dancey, glam rock, fun. That's what this group is all about. Lyrically, very descriptive and saucey. they do not mince words when it comes to sexuality. Elton John loves them; why shouldn't we?!

CD was brand new, shipped fast, good price and I would recommend this seller!
Packaging of CD was great so that it would not get broken during shipment, price including shipping for a new CD was cheaper than in stores, and i appreciate their speedy response!

) I love the beats as well as the lyrics, I decide to buy this CD because I love this groups work. They have music to which I can easily dance to. Not to say they have a sweet group image.

When I first bought this album nearly two years ago, it was in my CD player day after day. The catchy glam-rock-inspired pop tunes were the perfect antidote to gloomy winter days. Even now, I still put the cd in, and it stays. There are definite hints of David Bowie at the height of "Ziggy Stardust" and "Aladdin Sane" fame, as well as Roxy Music. The lyrics are vibrant, and often racy. If you want modern-day glam, the Scissor Sisters debut, self-titled album is just what the doctor ordered.
