Well if you are like me and grew up on this stuff for either Saturday morning fare or later as part of the "up all night" routine, there is nothing more to say other than that you should buy this set. It will bring back a lot of memories. Some of the prints are less than fabulous, and that's the only reason this set doesn't get 5/5 Excellent. Enjoy!

this is a great set to buy if you grew up going to the theater on saturday afternoons to watch a sci-fi double feature and cartoons. what i like most about this set is you can watch a movie when you like because tv today very seldom shows these gems. the dvd was a selling at a great price on ebay and the purchase went very smoothly. i can't give any negatives on this purchase so far has i have not gone thru all the movies yet but the ones i watched were all ok. recommend this to all older sci-fi fans.

Classic Sci-Fi Movies 50 Movie Pack

The majority of the movies have bad quality due to being compressed. Some of the movies are good. For the price, you really can't complain, 50 movies for $20.00, you gotta love it. If you love old B rated movies then you will love these. These movies make me laugh out loud, from the bad acting or the cheesy special effects. The antimatter ray gun in Teenagers From Out Of Space is awesome. For the number of movies you get even though some of them are almost unwatchable and the price I give them a good rating. If they came out with another 50 Sci-Fi movies pack I would buy because I love them cheesy special effects and all. B+ rating from me.

i enjoy sci-fi movies. this pack shows the things that were on tv when i was younger. even though the effects don't compare to todays, it is pretty good considering what they had to work with then. every thing was as advertised and in excellent condition. i'm enjoying them immensely. i would recommend it to any sci-fi fans.

  Great if you like Cheeze

I like cheesy movies. My faves are MST3K's. I bought these because I thought they would be fun to make fun of and they do not dissapoint. If you want some flashbacks to the 70's, or love dubbed Japanese movies, this item is for you. If you enjoy films that are short on plot and cohesiveness, this is just what you are looking for. Many a time I have yelled at the screen at the conclusion of a feature, "That's not a movie!" I am really enjoying them!

  The best of the worst!

There is endless fascination in this collection of sci fi movies which are
for the most part from the 1950s and '60s. Not only do the movies themselves
provide good stories, but you can take a walk down memory lane as you recall
seeing this one or that one at a drive-in with Mom and Dad. Anyone who doesn't know what a drive-in was might find some interest here also, depending on their
tolerance for movies made with larger imaginations than budgets.
See Gammera the giant turtle come close to destroying the world but be saved by love! Anyone who just wants to laugh, keep in mind how movies like this helped Japan recover a strong economy after the war. See Raymond Burr even before he was Perry Mason as a cursed lover in "Bride of the Gorilla". Some imagery will stay in your mind-- "The Atomic Brain" might be better found in a horror collection: some scenes in it are real gross-outs!
Mamie van Doren as an alien-- some space travelers were happy to find her!
Alan Steel as Hercules! Yes, it's a tour of movie-making in the "golden age",
and if the gold here isn't all 24-karat, some of it still shines!

  SciFi Classics--50 Movie Pack

You kind of know in advance going into this purchase that decent movies are part of this collection of DVDs as well as some dogs. None of the movies could be dubbed as classics, yet "Wasp Woman," "Voyage to a Prehistoric Planet," and "Moon of the Wolf" are interesting for their actors or producers or themes that would be explored in later years in more lavish productions.

On the negative side, inept movies like "White Pongo," "Mesa of Lost Women," and "The Wild Women of Wongo" are so cheaply made that the viewer is likely to hit the eject button a few minutes into each movie. With these movies, stock footage from other movies because almost instantly recognizable.

Depending on how much money you're willing to shell out or how much tolerance you can summon for very substandard productions, I'd recommend you look at all the titles in the collection and then make a decision. Also, check out your seller very carefully; I did not and had to wait well over a month for delivery.

Wow! Days before the super effects.

I loved most of these movies - mainly for showing what was available for the times they were made.
You cannot compare them to todays box office hits.
Watching these movies is like a step back in time.
They bring up old memories of what the movies were like before today's special effects.
It is great to see these old timers - and brings a smile to the face.
Watching these oldies allow one to see how it was done in the "old days".

I love the sci-fi collection because my husband loves it, and when he's happy we all are happy. Overall, I recommend the Sci-Fi movie collection for that special someone that love Sci-Fi movies.

This is a great collection of Sci-Fi Old Movies that I haven't seen
in years,I was watching a few last night .The return of the good old days and the memories that don't exsist any more,They don't make movies like this any more.I would rather watch these old Sci-Fi Movies then see the Computerized
movies that aren't real like..

I loved watching the old movies from my childhood. I really enjoyed the Hercules movies. Queen of the Amazon was also a good movie. You just can't watch these old classics today on local or satelite tv. Santa Clause conquers the Martians is something you can't see in the present time. My teenage sons have really enjoyed watching some of these movies with me!!! I bought one set for my nephew's graduation present, then I found another set and bought it for my kids and us to watch at home.

Ahh—those were the days! It was a time of innocence, round-eyed childhood simplicity, and a time when you could make a movie for about $800, including actors’ salaries, props and sets. Don’t ask for millions of bucks in computer generated graphics--what you need is a guy wearing sneakers in a rented gorilla suit with the zipper gleaming in the back. All you need for your basic homicidal alien robot is an inverted aluminum trashcan with a couple of eye-holes. And everyone knows that any living thing exposed to an atomic bomb test will ultimately grow to the size of a battleship and kidnap beautiful women before threatening Los Angeles. It’s just a fact! In truth, all modern theories of physics are burdensome superstitions if you can just discover a nifty new Weird Dimension in your basement laboratory--which happens more often than you would think! Don’t be too critical with this collection—it’s inexpensive and has more movies than a picnic has ants. Have some fun. OK, beam me up Scotty--I gotta watch “Gonzo Dines on Detroit.”
