School Dazed - 8 Movie Collection (DVD, 2007, 2-Double Sided Disc Set)

I'll review both the content and the package. CONTENT first; Eight movies that fans of the more down and dirty/pre-politically correct T&A flicks of the '70s and '80s will recall with varied degrees of fondness. All have their strong points, all have their weaknesses, all are worth the nostalgic re-viewing. The transfers are better then VHS, but at the minimum ebb of what you'd likely expect from DVDs. They have NO BONUS CONTENT of any kind, not even chapter indexing. If you want to see your favorite scene, you're going to have to fast forward a lot. The PACKAGE is the CHEAPEST DVD CLAMSHELL CASE I've ever held. It came out of the factory seal broken with disk one loose from a sprocket that seemed to disintegrate more with every touch. As a result both DVD's had some minor side-1 damage. The case is made with such a thin plastic that within a week I was glad I had a spare double disk replacement case because it at times seems to almost rip like paper. You should get what you payed for, and as long as you paid less then $16 for these movies I'd say you did well.

I bought this collection for one movie. The movie (My Chauffuer) was the second on a side of one dvd (8 movies on 2 dvds). There evidently wasn't enough room for both movies on the side, so they cut out about 10 of the best minutes of the movie. What a disappointment. If I had known this when I ordered, I would have kept looking. Oh, well. At least I have most of one of my favorite movies.

Here's a great opportunity to revisit several T & A, old school "classics", in this bargain basement, DVD collection. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Crown International Pictures corned the market in the production of cheap, sex-ploitation flicks aimed towards high schoolers, many sneaking into R-rated movies for the first time! There's lots of great memories for any hot blooded male who remembers leering at Caren Kaye in a blue bikini or delicious Betsy Russell proving "Tomboys" know how to screw a lug nut! By the way, the transfer of "Pom Pom Girls" is a scratched up disaster absolutely contributing to its "charm" as a grindhouse minor classic.

I was so excited to have all these movies from the 80's...but at around the halfway point of the first movie I watched(my favorite in the collection), an entire pivotal scene was cut out, leaving the movie making no sense whatsoever and making me feel like I have been cheated. I suspect all 8 movies will have the same issue. I have learned my lesson about buying "collections".
