I just loved the movie and it will really be interesting to read about how the picture was made, the individual characters, etc. I loved all of the pictures in the book also.

Scarlett Fever has to be one of the best sources for Gone With The Wind. This book is a must have for the GWTW collector or anyone intrested in how the movie was made and everyting about it and the actors.

A Must-Have for Any GWTW Fan!

This book is more informative, has rarer photos, and offers better insight into the whole phenomenon of Gone with the Wind than other books on the subject. It includes history on Margaret Mitchell's life and what led her to write the book; a 22 pg.synopsis of the actual story; many photos of the actors (not just the leads):among them,30 pages of the costume tests alone! Also, the differences between the book and the film; the stars in years following the film, and the requisite hardship of the filming itself-but with much new and myth-busting info! It concludes with a highly entertaining history of the film on television, which began with seven twice-a-day showings on the *new* pay-t.v.system,HBO,and continued later the same year (1976!) with the network premiere over 2 nights in November. It was laden down with previews for network shows (Baa Baa Black Sheep),and the torture of endless commercials:Shakey's Pizza,Ultra Brite toothpaste,Dynamo detergent, etc.) The author states that Scarlett confessed her big secret to Ashley in the Twelve Oaks library, met Rhett Butler, and accepted Charles Hamilton, then the action was interrupted for a supermarket interview informing the viewers that more folks preferred Stovetop Stuffing to potatoes! It is both fun and funny to read about what was advertised during this Big Event...I have other books on Gone With the Wind, but this was more enjoyable to read, and sheds light on some of the old myths actually put forth in some of those same books! I would buy this before any other claiming to be the last word on the subject-this author has a vast knowledge of the book and film,as well as an enormous collection of memorabilia,of which there are many photos, and he knows of what he speaks! It is a real treat for old and new GWTW fans alike!
