Chronicles the rise and fall of Cuban Tony Montana
Directed by Brian De Palma. Written by Oliver Stone. Starring Al Pacino. An initial "X" rating due to its depicted violence.
It wasn't easy, but the efforts of all those involved--from the screenplay, directing, to the superb acting, played a role in making this film in a classic long after its theatrical release.
This remake of the 1932 Howard Hawks film, chronicles the rise and fall of Cuban political refugee Antonio "Tony" Montana as he takes the Miami cocaine trade by storm. In the end, Montana loses everything (wife, sister, best friend, and ultimately his own life) as he is consumed not only with his greed but supply of drugs as well.
