I love the Maximum Ride books by James Patterson. They're a fast, fun read and I would recommend them for readers of any age. They will surely enjoy them.

An excellent series - for young and old alike!
) The series of Maximum Ride novels was fantastic. I sometimes find myself drawn to "childrens" books, like some may think of Harry Potter, C.S. Lewis' Narnia series, Scott Westerfeld Uglies, Pretties, Specials, and some others. This fit the bill - imaginative, possibly not far from what could happen in our world, just fun reading. Makes the brain cells THINK just a bit, but not too much.
