If you have discovered that the museum mafia isn't going to help you and preservation for them is only about money, (large buckets of it), then this book will land you with a good start. A really good start.

EXCELLENT Informative book! A MUST have!I have never seen another book like this one before for perserving the past. The book is filled with all the infomration you will need when preserving any antique, be it paper, leather, wood, silver etc. This book covers it all! It is easy to read, to follow instructions and is not dry reading, but the information is presented in an enjoyable reading format. Highly recommended to have on your bookself and use as a reference.
