Saving Sarah Cain (DVD, 2008, Dove O-Ring)

I never read the book, but this movie made me want to! I have heard that it is different from the book, but that is the way it always is. Michael Landon Jr. did a good job on this one. I really enjoy the children's acting-- they do a great job. Lisa Pepper is pretty good as well, not impressed by her boyfriend though, but I guess the point got across. This is well worth your time to get and watch, and you might even watch it again!

When Sarah (Lisa Pepper) becomes legal guardian of her sister's Amish-raised children, she takes them back to the big city and uses their story to advance her waning writing career. But when her new brood learns of the exploitation, they demand to return home. Will Sarah turn from her selfish ways and ultimately do what's best for the children? I heard about this movie from watching a clip at the begining of "Loves Unending Legacy". Happily, I went out & bought it. What a wonderful film! If you have children, make a family date-night...pop a big bowl of popcorn and make an old-fashioned memory of just being together! This movie will touch your heart & make you truly grateful for what God has blessed you with.

Deserves Five Stars. This is a great family movie. Has a great theme with very good acting. You will laugh and you will cry as you enter into both worlds of these children and Sarah Cain. I believe there is a hunger for more of this type family friendly movies and I just wish there where more like this one coming out. Watch 'Saving Sarah Cain." You won't be dissappointed!

When life hands us a challenge, it's good to know there is someone in the family or relatives who will step up to the plate even though in most cases
it is a sacrifice to themselves.....Love will always win out!!!!

With nothing good, wholesome, and viewable with children out there today, it's nice to see there's still someone making movies like this! It's refreshing to know that America CAN be entertained without cursing and and immorality! Different from book - but, still good story.

I loved this movie! We saw what a difference between the two
worlds...one safe world: laid back, trusting in
Jesus, the simplicity of an uncomplicated life! As opposed to:
the scary world of secularism...The Amish truly seem to be:
'in this world, but not of it'. I'd love to live a life more
like theirs! I hate the 'wanting to fit in' part that
children are forced into in schools...peer-pressure...I lived
it! This movie had a GREAT ending!

It is a good movie, good message for all ages, but for adults as well. Hard to find these type of movies in stores. Got in good time, in new condition. Excellent service

This is a movie about a self-absorbed city living young woman who's Amish sister dies leaving her with guardianship of her neices/nephews. It themes center around trust, forgivness, being true to your belief without being inflexible in what life throws you. It is about the beauty of simplicity and purity in a corrupt/selfish culture as well. I am a person not easily given to tears, but I found it was very emotional. The whole family will laugh and cry.

This is a very solid story, the characters are believable, and you learn something about another way of life (Amish). It is refreshing to watch a movie that isn't all about romantic story lines. This one is about a whole life, not just a single relationship. The movie has absolutely NO offensive language or scenes, and there is nothing objectionable about the story line. If you appreciate great, clean, truly family oriented movies, you will LOVE this one. It will give you opportunities to open up dialogue with your family about the different issues faced by the characters. It is nice to be able to watch a movie that not only entertains, but can add some conversation about it afterward. You will not be disappointed!

I have watched the movie several times. I am still trying to understand it's message, although I believe it does have a very real message. I have been a newspaper reporter. I have some Pennsylvania Dutch ancestry. I have reared five children. I have suffered some terrible losses when it comes to family. I have experienced so many of the feelings that I saw in the movie. It reminded me of the preciousness of families, children, love, and belief in God. I'll be watching it again. It is well worth it.

I had seen the preview for this movie from a Love Comes Softly movie and knew I would love it. I did. Lisa Pepper isn't the greatest actress in this movie, but it is beautiful. My husband even cried and that takes a lot. :) Although it is a Dove movie, there is a lady who is scantily dressed who is kind of a major character but it's not THAT bad. We like it.

I always appreciate a good, clean movie and this fit the bill. I wish more studios took out the bad language(and other garbage) and made more like this one! It was a great movie.

I liked it because it is a movie the family can watch together. I like movies like this that have a good story but without a lot of sex and violence. Also it is about a bunch of Amish children that come to the city to live with their aunt after the death of their mother. It is very interesting to watch as the children make attempts to aadjust to new surroundings. When they attend public school they have a really difficult time because everything is so unfamiliar. They story is very real and and you find yourself feeling the confusion they are going through. It is a movie we will be able to watch many times.

A wonderful family movie: Doing what is right with unconditional love and considering others before self. Awesome reflection of the Amish community.

With much of the Christian movie-making today, the story lines are great but they lack in production value and acting ability, usually due to the lack of big budget. Myself being a Christian, I long for the day that Christian movie houses will be able to operate on the same level as Hollywood as far as quality. Saving Sarah Cain has taken a step forward in this direction. The movie looks great--picture quality, camera work, sound, a quality score (not just all Christian contemporary artist 'top ten' music), and the acting is overall top notch. The story has been done before in many different ways but Saving Sarah Cain does a very nice with working in Christian influences into the 'Country mouse, City mouse' theme. If you are a Christian, please buy this movie, not only to get a great movie but to support a Christian movie house that has taken a step to creating high quality movies that give a great message. I have a hard time giving an 'excellent' for anything but this is more than just 'good'.

We decided to buy this because it was a preview to another movie we watched recently. My husband and I enjoyed the film. It is a good one to cause us to stop and reflect on our own relationships.

I decided to buy this movie when I saw it advertised on TV. It was an excellent movie with a lot of meaning. It was interesting to learn more about the Amish. It was awesome when Sarah realigned her priorities and gave up the "rat race" for what really matters...family. I would recommend this movie to anyone.

"Saving Sarah Cane" is a great family entertainment choice. It makes you think about what is really important in life.

When this movie began I would not have thought it would stick with me as it has. However it clearly demonstrates the challenge over values we all experience everyday. Some very good - realistic performances given.

I bought this movie cause I had read the book. I really love the movie. It's a clean family movie. Anyone can watch it without worry. My grandson even saw it and he liked it. There is nothing I didn't like.It's about a amish family that lost their Dad in a accident, and now their Mom. It will make you laugh and cry. Nice movie, buy and enjoy.

what a great movie, had to have a box of tissues. i have read the book and that was also great but the movie was so much better.
