This show is set in Oklahoma City, focusing on the life of a less than ordinary female Police Officer. She struggles daily with the loss of family and friends in the Oklahoma City bombing. She copes with the stark realities of life with too much booze and sex. This is a series for Adults with Adult themes well worth exploring.

When the main character, Grace, has too many drinks and hits a man with her car on the way home, she kneels at his side furtively performing CPR and alternately crying out for God's help. When God sends help in the form of an unlikely Angel named Earl, Grace thinks either the drinking has caused a hallucination OR she's losing her mind.

Earl is a "last chance" angel, someone (the series writers tell us) who God sends to straighten out people whose behavior probably wouldn't qualify them for heaven. These last chance Angels are God's way of getting people to think about what they're doing and why and to CHANGE that behavior.

The series manages to do all this "judging" of Grace's life and behavior without sounding judgmental at all. There's no lectures or sermons, but, there are profound stories of deep importance that make you think about BOTH Grace's life and your own.

This is a series that manages to erect HOPE in the midst of the gritty crime ridden streets and unspeakable acts of the darker side of humanity that this character has to confront everyday. That ALONE is worth the price of admission...

Spicy, Exciting and full of great drama you would want in a series, Holly Hunter is smoking hot and delicious to watch...

If you like characters and storylines that make you think and make you a bit uncomfortable sometimes, this is the series for you. It is funny, exciting, and moving at times. Very well written and acted. Not for those who like predictable plots or "cookie-cutter" reality shows. Warning, there is considerable mature content in these episodes.

Its not a show for everyone but you never know what's gonna happen next. It has left me haning everytime If you ever wanted an alter ego this is it! Holly Hunter is amazing!

I had never seen this show but had heard it was good. It is awesome!! Love it!! Would highly recommend it!! Worth buying and can not wait to see the second season.

love the series....use to watch it on tv all the time. bought it because ive always wanted to finish the series...since i ended up never having time to watch it.

This series is really funny and she is just lovable, as is Earl her "angel". IT does require a tolerance for her random sex partners, language and lifestyle but that said, she is also loving and intelligent and funny! We will be buying the next season soon.

This is an excellent show with a wonderful cast and storyline. I purchased this season as a gift for a friend who I wanted to share it with.

Excellent casting, good story lines, never predictable, always interesting. Can't stop watching! Holly Hunter is fantastic in this role. It makes me proud to see a woman portrayed as strong, smart and free-spirited, and loyal to her friends and family. Television needs more characters of this caliber.

Awesome Show.....Great Actors and story lines. Unexpected humourous situations makes it so worthwhile to watch. I love the show and I have purchased season 2 also. Holly Hunter is an great actress and plays the role superbly. The chemistry between the actors is so good and the friendship that Holly Hunter and Laura San Giacomo have is incredible. Watch it; you won't be sorry.

Love it, already was a huge Holly Hunter fan (a necessity I think to enjoy this series), very gritty, crude, but lots humanity and an interesting perspective on spirituality.

I really like Saving Grace and watch it all the time on TV. I could not find it any off the stores in my area.On ebay I found it along with lots of other DVDs I like. I did not buy this DVD for my self I bought it for my daughter who has only seen one show and wanted to see the first season before she watched any more shows on TV.

My wife sarted my on this show and I'm usually sort of picky about what I watch but this show clicked with me. Being from Oklahoma also puts interest in the show for me. I love how this show really shows you what life is like for a 5 foot policewoman. She is very dedicated to her job but after work, "Yee Haa!" And I love the parts with the Angel that helps guide her. He may not look the part but he is a very special to all the lives he touches. This is a great DVD set to add to your collection. One that makes you think about life.

Saving Grace is a great show and I just love all the actors in the show. I bought it beacause I wanted to see all the extras and interviews with the actors and get to know reason behind the show.

LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!!!!!! I missed several episodes of the first season so I decided to buy the DVD's, my first every DVD purchase. Just watched the first 4 episodes of which I missed 2 the first time around. Gritty, far out, and so real. The music is fantastic too, now I need to buy the CD for Everlast. Holly Hunter is perfect for this role as she has never played the goodie, goodie role. I hope this series lasts for a few more years, I am hooked, so much better than so called "reality" shows.

I could not be happier that I decided to buy "Saving Grace" Season 1. I have watched season 2 and wanted to see how this series began. This is an excellent ADULT series.

I had seen a show in the 2nd season and it so intrigued me that I really wanted to see the first season. I think the show is excellent and had 2 friends who watched it with me and now they are hooked!

Great Series. I don't know how they get away with showing so much nudity, but it does seem to fit the story line. The series does have strong scripts and good actors. Having grown up in Oklahoma City, it is easy to follow the narrative about the culture of the area and the places.

language is rough but the subject matter is dead on!
