Savannah Smiles (DVD, 2006)

I used to watch this movie with my mom when I was a kid. Unlike a lot of movies we watch as children, but grow out of, this movie I loved then and I still love it! It's a heartwarming story of a little girl who feels neglected by her parents so she runs away. She hides inside the car of two fugitives (not knowing they are fugitives). When they first discover her they don't know what to do with her, and she won't give them any information. They discover there is a reward for her safe return, so they try to find a way to return her and get the reward despite being criminals; knowing that no one will believe they didn't kidnap her. I always felt bad for the criminals, but the whole movie is funny and sweet and a must see! I highly recommend! It's a great movie you can safely watch with your kids, even young kids. No surprise violence or language or scenes you would rather your kids not see.

Always wanted this movie it is so cute i am glad that it was such a reasonable price. This movie i watched when i was a little girl and i always wanted to buy it but my mother wouldn't let me. It is quite a tear jerker. thanks again

I saw this movie, years ago, when my children were young. They are all grown-up now and I still enjoy watching it. It's funny, sad & heart warming. Anyone, wanting to watch a good movie, for nothing but pure enjoyment, this is it! I'm looking forward to watching it with my grandaughter, whose only two and not quite ready for it yet.

It has all the components of life. Truth, deceit, love, sadness, happiness, fun, laughter, loneliness, and finality. A good tear jerker.

Typical feel good chick flick from the era. Bought it for my girlfriend, because she likes the movie

very good movie, its the kind of movie the whloe family can enjoy.I saw this years ago and thought it was a great movie.

I loved the product. I bought it for a birthday present for my mom because she said she wanted it and I knew where I could get the movie. It is a sweet story of a little girl who is trieng to get her parents attention and makes two unexpected friends. I loved this movie growing up and I am gonna eventually get it for myself because I love it. It is one of my favorites.

this is a great family film. i loved it when i was little and now i can share it with my kids. this is a touching story of a little girl and two criminals that become friends and have a great adventure. The story line is wonderful and the actors play the perfect part.

Love the movie, but with it being so old it was hard to see on my flat screen. I thought with it being on DVD, it would be better clarity than VHS.

It is a sweet story about two men who find out about the power of loving a child and the joy and change a child can bring into a life. It is also a reminder to parents to treasure their child and to love them as they deserve to be loved. It is a classic. Savannah would tug at the heart strings of anyone watching. I love this movie.

This is a great flashback movie for those of us that saw it (many times) as a kid. However, it's also a good clean movie to watch with kids today. There are a couple of profanities that were very common in nearly all movies made around the same time, but nothing very harsh.
Savannah is adorable, the 2 bumbling crooks make it fun to watch, similar to the Apple Dumplin Gang, and it is just a very nice feel-good show to watch.
Some interesting trivia notes: As a kid, I always wanted to ride that tram at Bridal Veil Falls after watching the movie (grew up in Utah). I never got the chance and the tram shut down years ago. Recently there was a forest fire in the area that burned down the abandoned restaraunt building at the top and they cut the tram cable down after many years of non-use.
Also, the 'run down' house used in the movie was not so 'run down' prior to the movie. It was owned by a relative of mine. The movie company saw it, liked the location and look of the house, and bought it from them. They then proceeded to tear it apart and make it look like it had been abandoned for years. The reality is that it was lived in and in good shape up until the movie company worked their magic on it. :)

I have loved this movie since the first time I saw it as a child. It has comedy, excitement and sentimentality. It has a great message about how people can change. It's a wonderful family show, EXCEPT for the fact that the words hell and damn are used a few times and the word bastard is used once. I really recommend this movie. The only thing that people might get hung up on is the fact that when the movie was filmed, back in the early 80's, times were a little different. This movie might give children the disillusion that it's safe to associate with strangers, so those who view it with their kids might take an opportunity when the movie is over to explain to them that the choices made in the movie would not be safe for them.
Other than that, take is for what it is and ENJOY!

I bought the movie Savannah Smiles because we were trying to get some movies we remember from several years back that were good ones we enjoyed in our younger years. This was one of those older feel good movies, unlike most of the trash put out now. It's about a cute little blonde girl who decides her parents don't love her and decides to run away. She winds up hiding out in 2 escaped convicts car who eventually find her and somehow now have "kidnapped" her. They wind up falling in love with the little girl and she them. It's just a cute movie with maybe 1 curse word and no nudity(yes it can be done in a movie!)

I bought the movie because my friend's little girl wanted it after her Mom told her she had seen it when she was little..was very impressed with the fast shipping..Great Movie

I love the movie but the picture quality and sound was very poor. Not sure if maybe it was a bootleg copy or something.

This is a very wholesome, very cute story about a little girl and a couple of kind-hearted out-laws. You will be taken away by her charm and her cuteness. It also has some comedy as well. No disappointment here.
