Having become one of the most-loved actors of the contemporary big screen with his gentle, charming manner and predominantly nice-guy roles, Tom Hanks's origins as a comedian are often eclipsed by his later dramatic personas. But he has always been the class clown, and his comedic talents are much in evidence during his many guest starring appearances on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE. He spoofs his own films, including BIG and CAST AWAY, and is inducted into the "Five-Timers Club" along with other frequent SNL guests Elliott Gould, Paul Simon, and Steve Martin. The multiple Oscar-winner was responsible for developing the original characters of the roadie on WAYNE'S WORLD and Mr. Short-Term Memory.
