Movie Description A sadistic circus master mutilates his wife after she catches him with another woman, so traumatizing their son who witnesses it that he is committed to an institution. The armless mother and her son are reunited years later in an unholy alliance.

Notes One of the year's "Top Ten," said Siskel & Ebert. Hallucinatory shock king Alejandro Jodorowsky directs this tale of a young man who "loans" his arms to his mother, mutilated 12 years before by his vengeful father. In return, he gets to use her mind to carry out his own demented agenda.
