A Planned Attack On The President
Review created: 02/08/08(updated 02/08/08)

For those of us who like to read WWII stories , this is an interesting
novel , lacking what I would call a suspense story. I found myself wondering
through pages of information that glorified corruption in the military and
stepping into what amounted to be a list of sorts thereof.

Being that the book is a fictional novel , right from the start I anticipated
it to have alot of built up suspense that may not exist in non-fictional stories or accounts. In what was supposed to be the events surrounding an
attempt on US President Roosevelt's life to specifically win the war for
Germany , I found that the story lacked some much needed particulars to
fully capture events which would make that eventuality any sort of reality.

As the book breezed through what seemed to be open air and scenery , I was
lost most of the time , and don't recall any suspense or truely threatening
chapters related to events which might have threatened the President , no less
win the war for Germany. Lackluster chapters filled with desert dunes of hope
and dismay cloud the entire story with a shadow of doubt as to when the story
will gather any steam , poking gaping holes in what were very serious times.

Like a walk in the park on an overcast day you are led through passages of
military chit chat and private knowledge carried in the minds of the fictional
characters created surrounding the entire story. While upholding some minor
geographical areas and landscapes , the story ends , just as it began like a
far fetched mystery.

Without enough built up suspense the story drifts past the peak and into the
climax with no eventful end , twisting its way with the included love story
and missing reality by so many miles , you need a map to figure out what should
have been included. I give it a 5 out of 10 for it's intended storyline.
