SanDisk is the new Apple? When did that happen?

I wrote a good review about the Apple iPod shuffle, then was forced to edit it after 3 out of my families 4 shuffles went bezerk and malfunctioned permanently. So I began my hunt for a replacement digital music player. After all, I am not going to the gym without my digital audio book or music. Online reviews lead me to the SanDisk line of product. They seem to match the features of Apple iPods for less money. But being skeptical I just purchased one, a 2gb E250 for my daughter. 10 minutes after the box was open I was already enamored. Looked and felt like an iPod Sansa. We charged it up, connected it to the laptop and then I learned another consumer lesson; I am much more partial to the flexibility and quality of a normal music download service versus the strict and difficult service you get from iTunes. But go ahead and read the online reviews of music services for yourself and you will see what I mean. I am sure you want to read about the actual unit, so here's my basic run down:
Pros:
Small and sleek
Crystal clear LCD
FM tuner built in (!)
Easy to use (even for kids)
Excellent graphic menu
Good battery life
Good durability
Good value
Cons:
Buttons a little small
OEM headphones are just ok
