SanDisk Sansa Shaker (1 GB) MP3 Player

I really like this shaker. My grandkids love it. They take it every where. I would recommend it to anyone who has small kids.

I purchased one a while back and it has been thrown dropped and kicked. Then it was left on the bottom of the toy chest. Well we put a new battery in it and it still works unbelievable huh. So I purchased another one just recently for my sister in law and she is disabled w/ cerebal palsy and she loves it as well and is able to operate it fairly easily. My only suggestion is invest in rechargable batteries and I think you will be happy.

Even though the packaging says that it is for ages 8+, I took a chance and bought it for my four-year-old daughter and niece. They both love it, and so do we. The Shaker comes with a built in speaker to play music aloud and two (count 'em, two) earphone jacks so that two kids can sit side-by-side in the car and listen to the same music. It is so wonderful.
My wife and I used to have to listen to the kids' music or movies on long trips. Now we simply load up a bunch of age appropriate tunes and plug them in. They are either happy listening to the music, or they fall asleep listening to the music - like four-year-olds do.
The one drawback to the player (and it's not Sansa's fault) is that the player will play and play and play... My four-year-old daughter tends to leave it on and of course the battery life gets eaten quickly. So, as a parent I have to check on her often and make sure that I hear her playing and/or singing in the same location as the player, else I have to go shut it off myself.
All-in-all, I highly recommend getting this for the music lover in your life, no matter the age.

The product is exactly as described. The design is very easy for young children to use. Young children will like the fact that they can SHAKE it to change the songs, and that they can PLAY music without using headphones. Unfortunately, the product uses batteries and if your child LOVES music you will replace batteries often. It would be nice if the Sansa Shaker would use a rechargable battery pack (similar to other MP3's) instead of batteries.

Looking nice ,flexible operation and song plaing Easy to use instruction,speaker build in help to listen without earphones but Too low voice volume.

It took some time getting cover off but otherwise it worked well for my kids. USed it for a road trip and the kids liked listening to it - dual ear plugs were a plus.

I bought this mp3 player for my 4year old daughter and she loves it! She learned how to use it quickly and does not put it down.

The size is great. The built in speaker is nice, but it does not get very loud. I bought this for my baby to have lullabies to get her to sleep. It is very small and has a clip that fits on her crib. It was very easy for me to get music into it. Nice product over all, and she can use it herself when she gets a little older.

I love this item. I have bought 2 for my son and one for a friend as a gift. The thing that I like most is that you don't have to wear the ears buds to listen. The built in speaker is wonderful. I bought my son his first one for his 1st birthday.

The Sansa shaker is alot of fun! I bought one each for my son and daughter and they absolutely LOVE them! This is a great item because it has a speaker and you don't need to use the headphones if you don't want to. It has great sound. We loved it so much that we bought one to give as a gift to my daughter's friend, because she loved my daughter's Sansa Shaker! We don't use the shake mechanism that much to switch songs. It is just as easy to twist the shaker to switch from song to song. Easy to load songs onto the SD card. It is a pleasure to use. When we first started using it, there was a bit of a skipping problem, where it would not play the songs in their entirety, very frustrating but it works good now, not sure why though :). Enjoy it! Your kids will love it!

I really love this product. It is for my kids and they LOVE it! It was such a great price! Very durable. It was very simple to use, very portable, which is great for kids on the go. I have bought 2, i liked them so much!

I bought this for my almost 5 year old because she is always trying to listen to my music when I use my Sansa Clip. We had problems immediately - could not get battery case open and Sansa Support had a few suggestions but none that worked; it did finally open and now is kind of loose. This Player goes through batteries like crazy - plan on about 3 hours of music (says 10 hours) before having to change the batteries. Good news is my daughter does like to use it!

I bought this MP3 player, originaly based on the fact that it was cheap and pink. After giving it to my daughter for her 7th birthday, I found that this little player has a lot of functions that make it almost as cool as my Ipod.

While a visual display would be nice, I found that it was quite easy to use with out one. The fact that you can change songs by simply twising it player one way or the other was great, (you can also shuffle by shaking it)but I was worried that it would accidentally happen while resting in my daughter's pocket. To my suprise this has not happend even once in the 2 weeks that she has had it, and she uses it constantly! I also noticed that this little player was tough. She has dropped, kicked, bashed, and bonked this little pink tank every where, and it is still fine!

Another amazing little feature, which I have not seen on any other player, was the dual head phone jacks. Instead of putting one headphone in either ear, Both of my daughters can share their listening pleasure with their own set of headphones!

Finally the last best part of this little gadget is the fact it uses SD memory cards. I actually comes with a 1 Gb SD card with music already on it! SD cards have gotten very cheap. we just bought a 4Gb card for 14.99 at fry's. This allows my daughter a chance to take several "Mix cards" with her when we go out for longer trips. My daughter has been exploring more and more music, and is constantly asking me "who was that just playing?" when we listen to the radio. All in all, the perfect little MP3 Player for my Tech savvy little girl!

I brought 2 of this items for my special needs daughter who loves music. We use it during her various medical appointments and school meetings. I downloaded Sponge Bob from the Nickelon website to our laptop and uploaded it to the device. It was an instant hit! She takes it as soon as my wife and I pull it out and hold it to her ear (after we turn down the volume). With the musical already on the device, many doctors, nurses, and school teachers ask about it. The only down sides are they only plays MP3 formatted music and limited time to play until you or your child command it to play again. We tried to add other musical from CDs, but they do not play. I brought the 3rd one, so she could have one at her long term medical facility. The nurses and medical techs say that even the other kids and their families that visit loves it. It runs well on the single AAA battery. It's size is perfect for transportation and clip is strong to hook safely to items.

I love this MP3 player, we bought one for my daughter last year for Christmas and my nephew got one too. My sister-in-law is considering getting one for herself. It's easy to load music on and easy to use. We just bought one for my 1yr old. The fact that it can be used without headphones is great. It's been dropped, mouthed and god knows what else and it's still going. I would suggest buying rechargeable batteries as kids can be forgetful and leave it on.
