Samsung Yepp YP-T9 (2 GB) Digital Media Player

Almost all of my electronics and computers, including peripherals, were purchased as refurbished, direct from the manufacturer, and without exception, each product has performed flawlessly. Until this Samsung YP-T9. When it arrived, nothing indicated that Samsung had ever seen this device after its original production. The installation CD was a home-made copy, the how-to-use guide a xerox. The unit initially worked fine, but when I tried to upgrade the firmware, it would not upgrade. It is sometimes recognized by the transfer software, sometimes not.
The product itself, if it functioned perfectly, is a great mp3 player certainly as good if not better than the much more expensive iPods. However, I will be very careful before I purchase another "factory refurbished" product from any eBay seller.

Lets see, its really small and light, has a great battery, buttons are great, its menu system is really well thought out and designed, and it has a radio. I was looking at the nano for the longest time due to its small size and abilities but I personally love to listen to the radio and ontop of all the other players out there, this was the closest to the nano in my opinion.

My only problems with the player is that it is a little slow in the transerfering of music. Its a good idea to get good with the software bundled with the player cause it works a lot more smoothly than just transfering files with windows exlorer. The other issue, which I don't really care about but some one else might like to know is that there is this lag between button presses. It will let a song play on for maybe a second more before switching or hold in a certain menu before going to the next. I don't have a problem with this at all but its worth knowing.

Overall, this is a fantastic player that once one can learn all the little particulars of, amazing in design and functionality.

What I love about this mp3 player is so small it fits on your hand,slim and the sound is excellent.It gives you a stereo sound and crystal clear.I don't have anthing to dislike about.It is all worth buying it.I can tell you one thing,the sound is a lot better than Ipod Nano.

I purchased the YPT9 for Christmas. It has great sound, beautiful video.But it locked up after two weeks of use.Folks atBest Buy replaced it and the new one died after about the same amount of time. Maybe I got two lemons..maybe not. I got money back and am in the process of evaluating other brands. Good Luck. You'll need it.

VERY EASY TO USE EXCITING UNIT. IT'S SMALL BUT HAS A BIG SOUND LOVE TO LISTEN TO IT ON THE BOARDWALK.

I've bought 5 of these players (three for my kids, one for me, and one to replace a stolen one), and I think this is the best mp3 player out there.

For the pros:
It's small, light, has a fabulous screen (the best 1.8" screen I've seen), great (and customizable) sound, great battery life, and the Samsung software works well at installing music, playlists and videos (it converts the videos on the fly). The radio works just fine and the voice recorder gives clear and high quality recordings. It even has games to play! It does everything, and does it well.

For the cons:
The Samsung software loads a couple of DRM utilities that I regard as both unneeded and intrusive, bordering on spyware. I've removed them and had no problems. It's also not all that user friendly in terms of playlist creation and loading (they're called "Albums" in the software). There isn't a user replaceable battery, and one of my players is showing signs of fading battery life (after 3 years). The player is so slick, small and light that it can be easy to drop if you don't buy a case of some type for it, and the proprietary Samsung power cord means you're music-free until you replace it if it gets lost or broken.

Overall though, this is the cat's meow of mp3 players. My favorite!

The price was a very reasonable price. Shipping was also very reasonable. That is why i decided to buy this product. The thing i like about it the most is the memory it has in it. You can store alot of songs on this digital media player

i bought the samsung ypt9 about two weeks ago. at first i thought the player came with every thing but i was worng. i still continued with the transaction.
i bought a usb charger for it somewhere else. the player works fine.

this mp3 player is great has a lot of great cool things that you can do with it ... the player is very easy to use and hasa very bright clear screen.

Love the product for the price, once you figure it out. Instructions are really bad. It was our first MP3, so we had know idea at all even how to turn it on. Still figuring some of it out 3 months later. My 8 year old son won't put it down. It's a great starter.

Item came on time and works as disclosed. This is the second MP 3 player of this model purchased on Ebay and I was replacing the first purchased after using for about two years. I wish you made a FM transmitter for this item, but I guess there isn't enough demand for this item.

awesome mp3 player, love the color and everything.( i got it in purple) when i bought it, it came with some files already on it from the previous owner, but once i formatted it everything was gone. perfect for me, and ive had mannnyyy mp3 players and ipods before this one with varying satisfaction.

High quality, easy to use. The only thing stoping me from rating it excellent is it's limited memory.

I did a lot of research before purchasing an MP3/PVP. I really like all the features in this tight package. However don't let the size fool you the display size and quality is awesome.

I have been looking to purchase a Samsung Yp-T9 Mp3 player for myself ever since I bought one for my wife a year ago. The Mp3 player is straight forward and user friendly. I was skeptical about buying a refurbished unit but the Mp3 player arrived in excellent conditon - I was unable to locate a scratch anywhere on the unit. I have tested most of the functions and all of them worked fine. All in all I am very satisfied. The seller was prompt with shipping too. I bought it on Friday and received it on Monday. No regrets on my end.

What do you get with the YPT9? Tons of usful features for a lot less $$$... MP3 player, FM radio w/recorder function, a voice recoder (excelent mic), video player, photo viewer, and a text viewer. it is very slimline and tough not to mention the free softwaver and downloads from Samsung media studio. I was ready to fork over the $400 for an iPod until I found the Samsung YPT9 for a fraction of the price. I paid $100.00 each at the local electronic store and bought 2 of them one for myself and one for my wife. I checked all the revies and saw that a majority of buyers loved thier YPT9 media players. To date the only problem I have had is the screan freazes (easy fix press menue and record at the same time). It doesn't power up instantly it takes about 6 seconds to boot up ( I can live with the inconvience to save $300). I would recomend this product to anyone who wants a cheap priced reliable MP3 media player.

Now I know why apple's ipod is so popular. My samsug ypt9 will not come on. I can't see getting it repaired. The seller has a limited warranty-guess how long- a month.

I like samsung because it's not so expensive but its products usually has almost every function. YPT9 is the same way. It can even play almost every kind of video files. but competitors almost cannot. also its design looks awesome. smooth and softly round body it has.
there is one thing to be cautious. some sellers deceives refurbished items as brand new.

Sorry for the delay, this player has everything you need in a portable media player. Fom movies to radio to photos to voice recording it does all. I am extremely satisfied. This is much better than the ipod nano, and for almost half the cost of the nana. I recommend this Samsung YPT9 digital media player to everyone.

Prefer Samsung's MP3 player ease of use and download. Great screen imaging and sleek design. This was a refurbished unit, good as new and at a great price. Came with Samsung earphone which are very good.

I was looking for a mp3 player w/o braking the bank. The IPod is really expensive considering what standard features it has. After extensive researchI came upon the Samsung T9, it about the same size as an IPod, it is sleak, black, high gloss, bigger screen, FM radio, voice recorder, movie/photo player - all for a very reasonable price. A home run, as when recieved, it was all that and more everyone has an IPod. It is nice to be different from the masses. It is easy to use, very easy to download music, pictures, movies and listening to the radio, one can copy muisic from radio, battery life is also about the same as the Ipod

Therefore I'd recommend Samsung T9 a excellent alternative to the king of mp3 players - Ipod.

I purchases this for my daughter. I already had one and she loved the features it had. The LCD Screen, the easy control of getting to her music,videos,photos etc. I would recommed this product to anyone....It is easy to use.
