Samsung Yepp YP-K5 (2 GB) MP3 Player

Great sound qaulity from the speaker and very durable. come with good headphones and is just a great player.

Samsung has recently been cranking out some decent players into the market, one of them being the Nano-competing Z5. The newer K5 is an exceptional twist on the MP3 player, providing a set of external speakers that allow you to unhook your ears from sometimes confining headphones. The K5 is flash based and currently comes in 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB capacities with all of the standard MP3 player features: MP3/WMA audio playback, JPEG photo viewing, FM radio, and alarm clock.

Even though the K5 has a fairly standard set of MP3 player functions, what sets it apart from the rest is the innovative design and external speakers. The K5 is a niche player and is not for everyone, but for that niche, Samsung hit the nail on the head by creating something very unique.

Samsung’s K5 caters to a specific crowed and is not for everyone, myself included. However, it is a great player for its innovative design and surprisingly loud external speakers. I think that the player would be great for someone who listens to audiobooks, podcasts, or radio shows and doesn’t want to be tethered to headphones. The external speakers are okay for music, but consider its playback as working background noise rather than something you’d really want to sit and listen to. The sound quality through the headphone jack is fairly typical, but plays louder than most MP3 players. The touch controls give the player a clean look but are not favorable to the overall user interface. If you are considering this player, the external speakers should be the main deciding factor, because without them, the K5 is just another MP3 player.

the ease of use is exceptionally. you can put very many songs on it, the only thing i didn't like is tha there is no skins or covers for it.

I really loved this mp3 player always liked it since the first time i seen it some one gave one to my daughter and since then i fell in love with it i love it so much i even reccomend it to some friends and of couse i bought them one alsoe thru ebay well they paid for it of course.I got nothing bad to say about it all around i love it alot =)

the touchscreen doesn't work correctly at all, pressing the right arrow doesn't do anyhting, pressing the up arrow for volume makes the player go to full volume, and pressing the down arrow for volume makes the player go all the way to silent, after a little while of frustration of getting the player to work in your favor, it goes to the menu screen, and the center button to click on different items of the menu doesn't work at all, so you cannot leave the menu screen again until you turn the player off and on. also, you hafta try the power slide a minimum of 5 to 6 times before the player actually turns off.

I really cant write a review on this item, because it never worked. came with no power cord and when i finally purchased one from an outside vendor, i couldnt get it to work. Not even the FM radio. Really dissappointing. I guess the price was too good to be true.

my brother has one like that. i got it for my niece. she always wants to borrow it.now she will have her own.

The product was brand new, which is exactly as I was hoping. However, there was a bit of confusing as to the ACTUAL product. I read the product information and interpreted as the selling of the newer version. But as it turns out, I received the older version instead. This is probably a mistake on my part though.
