I purchased this phone a few days after T-Mobile released it on their website. After reviewing the information and what this phone was capable of I immediately fell in love with it. I love the candy bar type phones compared to flip phones mainly because it's easier for me to access things utilizing one hand. When I received my phone I went through an extensive evaluation on it checking to see what it could and could not do. Listed below are the good and bad things I found:
***Good***
1. Large display screen. The colors are just fantastic on this phone, really rich and brings out pictures nicely.
2. Memory card slot. Having a memory card is great because it allows me to store pretty much everything I would want on my phone, accepts Micro SD.
3. 1.3 Mega Pixel Camera. I was very pleased with the camera on this phone, the photos are just great and the phone utilizes the entire display rather than a small shooting frame.
4. MP3 Player. What else can I say about having one of these, with a memory card it almost makes an iPod or other MP3 player obsolete.
5. Timer/Stopwatch. Who needs a watch with these applications available on the phone?
6. Software Update. To ensure your phone is currently up to date with the newest software from Samsung all you have to do is click the software update button and it will begin downloading.
***Bad***
1. Volume. I found it kind of hard to hear incoming calls with this phone. Would have loved to seen the volume increased a bit more.
2. Display menu. There isn't an option to change the current configuration on the display menu, so whatever options there are now is permanent.
3. Charging port. This is a different style charging port that I'm used to with Samsung phones, so any old Samsung chargers you have will not work with this phone.
Overall, I am EXTREMELY satisfied with this phone. I'm pretty picky with what kind of phone I have but I believe I won't be changing phones any time soon. T-Mobile made a good choice introducing this phone to it's subscribers, personally I've been waiting A LONG TIME for a phone like this to come out.

A first look at this phone and you will be tempted to buy it. However, it makes a lot of sense to go through all that it offers and make the buying decision simply because there is a choice of variety of phones available on the market in the similar category.
In my opinion, following are the Goods and the Bads of this phone
The Goods:
-The thinnest and lightest (2.5 ounces) phone I have ever come across.
-Quad band (operates on 850 MHz,900 MHz,1800 MHz and 1900 MHz)
Internationally useful
-Good reception and sound quality.
-Bluetooth Wirelsss capable.
-80 MB internal memory. Micro SD Memory Slot, if you wish to store your data/music on a memory card and then carry/use it along wherever you carry your phone.
-1.3 megapixel camera that can take photos and does VIDEO RECORDING.
-Camera has variety of pixel modes you could save your image in.
Zoom feature is decent enough.
-Music Player that supports MP3, WMA, and ACC file types.
-Supports high speed data transfer (internet) using EDGE technology.
-Voice recorder.
-Speakerphone
-Good amount of talk time (5.5 to 6 hrs).
-Voice messaging and picture messaging.
-Conference Calling (talk to two people at the same time).
-Very attractive look and finish (Champagne Color).
-T-Mobile MyFaves capable.
The Bads:
-The WORST OF ALL, its navigation keys top, bottom, left, right and then OK button are placed very very awkwardly and very close to each other. I literally had to use finger nails to press these keys in order to make sure I press the right key. YOU MUST TEST AND SEE IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH ITS NAVIGATION KEYS.
-As per various published reviews including people reviews and CNET review, the volume on this phone is relatively low. So it will be worth while to check if its volume meets your expectactions.
-This phone does not have voice activated dialing. For a hi-tech phone like this, I was surprised to see the absence of this useful feature.
-Its a tall candy bar phone. If you are used to small flip phones, this style may not appeal to you.
Overall its a good phone except the navigation keys problem and voice activated dialing. One can live without voice activated dialing but the navigation keys can be a hassle each and every time you operate the phone.

I walked into the T-Mobile store with all intentions to buy a samsung t629 but when i got there they told me that the trace was a better phone/value. After having the phone for several months now i like the phone but it is hard to control.
Pros:
1.3 mega pixel camera-takes great pictures and utilizes the entire screen also great videos
stylish design-candy bar shaped phone
the thinnest phone i have ever seen
Quad band-can be used with any company that uses sim card
Mp3 Player-allows you to listen to music with 80mb internal memory plus a micro sd card slot for even more expandibility
Cons:
Very small navigational keypad-hard to use for even average sized hands, once into a menu i frequently press the wrong button and goto a different menu
low earpiece volume-hard to hear even when in a room by yourself could be a problem for people used to a loud phone.
only 5 text/ picture msg tones-no customization at all and are very lame
Camera sound-cannot be turned off even when phone is in silent mode

I like this phone very much. I loved the slim form factor and this is the reason that I bought it. I already had a Tmobile Sidekick, however, the sidekick doesnt have MMS capability.
The phone is very usable, the screen and graphics are very clear and crisp. The phone is very easy to use and I could pretty much dig right into it without even reading the manual.
If you are looking for a clean, thin, usable phone that is also MYfaves capable, this one will serve you well.

Just got this phone little over three weeks ago and overall its a pretty good for the price. The phone is more stylish but has a lot of features that are useful.
Pros: it takes good pictures, an major improvement in low light compared to previous samsung phones, great battery life, memory card, decent reception, bluetooth, speakerphone, AIM or other IMs, good screen, you can put your own mp3s as ringtones with bluetooth, Irda, or USB cable
Cons: headset volume could be louder, speakerphone is not as effective as some other speakerphones I have used (the speaker it self is a little quite when noisy), would like to see more customization of phone menus, cannot get it to play some mp3s even when using samsung software also i can't get my 3pg videos from my old samsung to play on this phone or any videos, can change text msg noise or turn off camera noise

The price of the used phone sounded good, the article stated that it worked, so I thought it would be a good buy. When I received the phone, on the outside it seemed in good condition, but when we tried to use it the menu button didn't work. Then when I tried to return the seller argued with me and said that it did and refused to take it back. I had to go to paypal and raise a dispute before he was made to allow a return. If you are going to sell something be sure it works and then if it doesn't take it back.

Best phone in the world. This is the second time my husband has bought this phone. It has very clear sound. Sized very well and the length of the phone fits your face very well! He carries it in his pocket. Never has the software problems that my Razor does. He had 1 phone for the life of 3 of my Razors. T-Mobile stopped celling it so we had to find it on E-bay.

This phone is excellent for travel because of it's small nice and good features.
I would recommend this phone and this seller for someone looking for a Quadband GSM phone that is easy to travel with.
The phone itself sounds good and despite its size it is comfortable to hold and talk on.
Changing the SIM card is a bit of a pain as it is located in the back battery compartment but otherwise the buttons are large enough to handle and the display is easy to read.
A good choice and easy to take with you on a trip.
I would recommend this phone and this seller for someone looking for a Quadband GSM phone that is easy to travel with.

I received the phone in about 8 days. Thwe phone has good sound quality. the music quality is good too. I had to get a usb cord for it though. it came with 2 batteries, a wall charger and a car charger and also a hands free set.

I like the phone because is thin, fits great in my back pocket or front. I use to have a Samsung T519 about two years ago. But it got broken in half between the screen and the key pads. It still kind of works, which is great. After purchasing this product I am happy again. I will enjoy this phone all over again.

Excellent Cell Reception for T-MobileMy son didn't even want to touch this phone when he received it for a new T-mobile account. After he lost this phone and used others on the T-mobile network, he surprised me one day and specifically requested this phone as it got the best reception of any of the other phones he had tried on the T-mobile network.

Good for a simple phone.If you are looking for simplicity, this is your phone. Its slim, easy to use. Eventually loses the mic's sharpness, but thats normal wear and tear. Also, ebay is the only place to purchase them, so there is not alot of people with this phone, if you are looking for uniqueness.

The stupid phone was great to begin with but then after a month I had problems with the buttons and so texting took forever. A month and a half I purchased the phone it would just randomly shut off and so I had to buy a new phone from AT&T just a couple of weeks ago. I will never buy an unlocked cell phone off of Ebay ever again.
