The best way to get the picture quality you want

This Samsung widescreen (16.18" Wide X 10.25" High - viewing area) is surprisingly larger when viewed for 2 reasons. First of all , the quality and brightness of colors , especially white , are overly vibrant , to the point where you are actually seeing the screen as larger than 19" widescreen.
These factors are by design and as a result of a very narrow bezel that is also accurate. This accuracy also makes it so that your windows are always straight and in line with the bezel trim , unlike some other monitors that still have a "black" border or trim outside the viewing area. This monitor has approx. 1/16" of black border , therefore it is not readily seen. In fact the brightness is what is seen moreso.
After viewing this monitor for only 2 days , and having just plugged it in to get it to "autoadjust" by itself from the very start , I have come to realize also that it is based on the basics that are needed for a VGA monitor while concentrating on providing an extremely bright and yet adjustable format.
With no speakers or extra hook-ups (like DVI) on the rear of the unit , it is simply "plug & play" compatible. When you plug the monitor in , a bar shows the "autoadjust" feature working when you boot up your computer. Nothing else is required even though there is a CD Rom included which has the monitor driver on it and the online owner's manual in PDF format.
My desktop appeared in 800 X 600 resolution , which was clear and legible , although I changed it to 1024 X 768 resolution as I normally do. If you click to your text editor or wordpad in windows , you will see how clear the printing is in lcd widescreen. This also makes your toolbar options light up brighter so that you can see when you have selected BOLD or Italic and such much easier , like never before.
Being that the monitor is lightweight it is very stable and well balanced considering. You can also note that it is energy star rated which uses less power to run. This monitor is for those of us who simply want a better lcd experience at an affordable price that includes a 3 year (US Parts & Labour) warranty. On a scale of 1-10 , I give this monitor a 9 , for it's intended design and it's simple , yet extremely functional lcd picture. My advice is to buy this monitor before you buy any 19" lcd monitor on the market.
The picture is alot closer to what you see advertised , and remains so once you use it , unlike other 19" square monitors which "do not" enhance the viewing area much more than the usual CRT monitors do , while you disappointedly realize that 19" square is not necessarily good for graphics or movies.
The picture is soooooooooo bright , you might only adjust the brightness down after you set the resolution you prefer. All you might use is the power button afterwards , which has a blue light built in to see when the monitor is on or in standby mode (it flashes off and on) when off in standby mode.
The screen is extremely black when off , this probably contributes to how bright any other colors are when combined.
