    Introduction

    I love my M610!  I am getting a new instinct, but I hope I don't want my 610 back.

I haven't had the problems that my kids have had with the RUMOR.  My phone never just turns itself off.  The pics are beautiful and you can use the adaptor to copy them.

I really like the sleek design and the fact that your phone stays charged for a long time.  I would give this phone a very high rating.

I have this phone. It's very user-friendly and has everything I would want in a phone...and it looks great, too!

      Perfect, slim, refined, low-hype, feature-rich M610

Samsung's SPH-M610 for Sprint is everything I have been looking for in a cell phone--and I have been looking for a very long time (embarrassingly countless hours scouring cell-phone review sites).

I bought it as a replacement for my A900, and it is the perfect upgrade. The A900 was a fine phone, but the pseudo Windows XP graphic interface made me ill every time I looked at it. The M610 corrects everything that was wrong with the A900 and improves on nearly everything.

The M610 uses Sprint's more recent, refined black- or white-based menus with orange highlights. The design of the M610 is smooth, refined and slim. The A900 was indeed slim and nifty but it looks like a 4-ton heap of gadgety Edsel metal compared to the sleek, purposeful M610 Porsche. Additional improvements over the A900 include a dedicated speaker phone button, a Micro-SD slot and expanded Bluetooth support (including Advanced Audio Distribution-A2DP). One very important thing that was not changed is, like the A900, the M610 also includes Qualcomm's native media player; unlike many recent Sprint phones (i.e., Muziq), you are not forced to use Sprint's reprehensible, java-based Music Store media player (though it is available). Also, the M610 has the same beautiful 256k-color, 240x320 internal display as the A900.

As far as features and functionality, the M610 supports the now standard text messaging, web, email, music download, etc. as well as Sprint's premium PowerVision services with EV-DO connectivity. Call and music playback sound quality is great and I am pleased with the battery life--with light use I can go three days or more without recharing; continually listening music drains it in 3-4 hours, consistent with the manufacturers specifications.

PRO: Pretty much everything, but specifically the sleek, functional design; 256k-color, large internal display; native music player; dedicated speaker phone button; Micro-SD.

CON: The only external buttons are for volume; external music buttons would have been nice (pause/resume at least), but I prefer no music buttons to the aesthetically obtrusive ones that shame the face of so many phones these days. Also, you are required to remove the battery to access the Micro SD slot; however, if you use USB or Bluetooth to transfer files this is not really a problem.
