Samsung SPH M540 Highnote (Sprint Nextel)

I love my new phone it is the best phone I have ever had. the speakers are so loud and clears it is amazing. Plus I love the scrolling wheel that might be my favorite thing on the phone! Also the bubbles, driving mode, and personal options are very nice features to have. I can check the weather and my horoscope first thing in the morning!

No feature of this phone falls in between the great and the terrible. The worst part is if they had taken a little more time and thought in programming it, it could have been the best phone of the year.

The best:
Design. Bar none, the external features, weight, double way slide, headset & standard headphone compatiblity, hot keys, rotary control, USB charging from any USB device or power supply.
Interface. Great speakers, great speakerphone, audio, easy to use keys.
Battery. Good battery life considering the tiny and light battery, lasts a few hours of continuous talking.
The worst:
Software. Every single problem with this phone has to do with its programming. With the new Sprint carousel, everything seems to go through the internet connection, or take you to a java app. rather than a dedicated in-phone app. The only way to launch the media player for instance is to go through the file manager, and takes about 8 menu steps to get to. Though the text messaging menu is easy to use and access, there is no way to get to a saved draft or your pending outbox at all.
The mediocre:
Camera. The colors seem a bit flat, the video is unimpressive. My old Sanyo M1 was worlds better.

I bought this phone for my boyfriend. Although I got it months after it first came out, he really wanted it. Just as I hoped, he loved it because it slides two ways, it has a great speaker for audio, tv and games. The circle pad on the front is touch-enabled so he also loved that feature. What we don't like about it is that the music files cannot be easily converted into ringtones :(

I love the sound blasting speakers! The battery lasts a long time for such a small and light phone. It is cute, it fits into every pocket. I like the matte blue color but I wish they had put a anti-fingerprint coating on the back cover. The front of the phone is flat, so is easy to clean up from fingerprints. The rotary wheel feels great and comes in handy to scroll up and down. What I don't like is the camera, is terrible. If you don't hold it very still, your pic will be blurry and that goes for the video camera as well, not good. Besides those two things, I think the phone is great. Good buy.

i liked the phone because i likes how it looks and because i can do lots of stuff in it even doe it has some little scratches its ok

Got it for my daughter...she seems to like it.Easy to use and understand. Phone call quality and picture quality seems very good

Bought a brand new Highnote and the phone died after one week. Phone would not power up. Took the phone to the Sprint store and they were puzzled as well. Had to exchange the phone with a factory refurb under my Sprint protection plan since I did not purchase the phone from them.
Not impressed with Samsung at all.

Great phone. The phone was still registered to an account when I recieved it so it created activation issues. However, beathedeal worked very hard to make sure I can get the phone activated in no time. They are trustworthy and sell great products.

I like the Gps service, the loud speakers, the color screen is cool. I do not like the battery life. It stinks! It does not even last me a day.

The speakers are so clear. The phone is easy to navigate . The design and size are not to large or bulky in my pocket.

I loved the fact that the phone had a built in speaker,the sound is amazing. Great for people who us their phone as a primary MP3 player. The text-to-speech funtion (also known as driving mode) is so helpful, as well. This is a very god mid-level phone for any sprint customer, I highly reccommend it!
