Samsung SPH A920 (Sprint Nextel)

Excellent features in an attractive package. I especially liked the easily accessible MP3 unit without having to open up the phone. As well as the eaze at which downloads can be made! This phone has everything, infact... it almost has too many features to believe. I am extremely happy with it.

I personally never liked samsung phones, As I am in wireless retail I prefer Sanyo phones, I always liked their functionality, their signal strength and their speaker-phones and form factor. Most samsungs phones I have used which started with the 3500 back in the day and the 460 then the 840. Most samsung phones I have used all got VERY HOT after just 10 mins. on the phone and I always dropped calls. I have to say I was a BIG fan of my Sanyo VM4500, I thought nothing could beat it, then it broke!

I choose the Samsung A920, with all the problems that happened with the A900 and I was no big fan of the sound quality I went for the odd shaped one and I couldn't be happier. where sanyo is missing out on the Blue tooth samsungs is great! Sound Quality is GREAT, Signal Reception is GREAT!

This phone is astounding. I hanvnt been more happy with a cell phone in years. Awesome camera phone witha removable disk for easy access to pictures. MP3 player is awesome. I love everything about it!!!

This phone is awesome as a phone, I do not need or use any of the extra features (MP3, camera, etc). We live in a rural area that has very poor reception and this phone has better reception than any phone I've had. I really like the Blue Tooth for driving and conference calls I have to be on frequently. Navigation through the phone's options is very user friendly. Battery life is very good for what I use it for, web, vision and MP3 might use it faster but it easily lasts all day with a lot of use and 2 days with moderate use.

FEATURES AND GIMMICKS WORK PERFECTLY, AS A PHONE, IT STILL HAS A WAY TO GO TO EQUAL THE SIGNAL STRENGTH AND RECEPTION OF ERICSSON, NOKIA, OR SANYO; BUT, MUCH STRONGER SIGNAL STRENGTH THAN PREVIOUS GENERATION OF SAMSUNG AND LG PHONES. EXCELLENT BATTERY LIFE WITH STOCK BATTERY, THE "EXTENDED" BATTERY IS A REAL PORKER, MAKES FOR A VERY THICK PHONE, BUT, STAYS UP FOR A WEEK OF NORMAL USE, STOCK BATTERY 3-4 DAYS. MICRO SD MEMORY ENHANCEMENT IS NICE FEATURE.

We have a half dozen A-920 phones on our Sprint accounts. All of them have been purchased through Ebay used and all work perfectly. When we decided to upgrade our phones we had the choice of adding two years to our contracts and getting brand new free phones, or paying extra for new phones with extra features. Or we could buy better quality used phones with a bunch of extra features and have no contract.

If you have no obligation to Sprint their customer retention department is very negotiable. This is a big advantage to buying a used phone through Ebay. We have been able to negotiate free internet access on all of our phones. The A-920 provides EVDO high speed internet access. The wireless modem NAI can be disabled for easy tethereing to a laptop through either a USB cable or bluetooth.

The A-920 also has a memory card slot to allow the phone to be used as an mp3 player. The built in steroe speakers are very good and an inexpensive adapter allows almost any stereo headset to be used. The memory card also allows easy transfer of pictures taken with the phone to a laptop.

The A920 also has built in GPS with free programs available to use this feature with a moving map that downloads new maps over the internet as you travel.

The speakerphone is very easy to use and works well also.

The one downside of the a-920 is the size of the display. Many games and programs are designed for a 320x240 display and the A-920 has a 220x176 display. This means many of your favorite video games will not play correctly on an a-920 although there are still many available.

The A-920 is a high quality phone with many features that make it especially desirable to those of us who enjoy tweaking a bit to get the most out of their phones. I have purchased six of them and all have worked well. I have paid between $25 and $50 a piece with shipping. Extra batteries are about $5 on Ebay. The best phone I received was also the cheapest.

I liked this phone because it's got an mp3 player on it and I can do a lot with it. It's also has high speed internet too. I bought it on Ebay because I could get it for a better price on Ebay then if I could at the store.

I wanted something that would make me forget about Nextels' phone...the Samsung A920 did it for me. Not only is it the same size as my old phone it also can be a music player. I can play for 6 hours without killing the battery, trust me I was bored at work one night! It does only come with a 32Meg chip, but that is not a big deal, you can buy 512 chip cheap now. The sound quality is 100 times better than my old phone. The camera took me a minute to get use to, but once I did, the pictures are great! This phone also has voice activiated dialing as well as number lookup and starting applications. I have been a Nextel person for years. I have really enjoyed this phone. It has capabilities to store podcasts, music, and sudio books from cds. I have been pleased with the phones performance. It has also been a good phone.

Great colors of phone blue and silver! Awsome mp3 option which is better than ipod (just ad an upgrade trans flash card to 512mb) A friend put a 1gb san disc memory card and it read it as a full 1gb. Awsome dual speaker stereo sound! the 1.3 megapixle camera takes awsome photos! Great reception, style and function. I reccomend getting the $59 blue tooth headset (samsung brand, as it matches phone and works awsomely) Could there be a better phone out there? (well maybe the sanyo M1)I highly reccomend this kind of phone for everyone as we all need some spoiling! Not a single complaint about this product! Way to go Samsung and Sprint!

I loved the phone it even came complete with an MP3 player. It beat buying an I-pod. It had a clear picture and a fast start up. I would highly recommend this phone to anyone

I like that it is more durable than the previous sprint phone I had. I love the fact that it also has more features like the mp3 player. It's cool how I can send text messages while talking on the phone. I dislike the fact that you can't customize your voice to the ringer for your phone book like my old phone. I don't like that when you're calling someone, you can't pick up an incoming phone call even if it canceled out your outgoing phone call. The camera, although very clear, is too complicated to use. It takes too long to load and the pictures take long to register in the phone. By the time it does, the picture all messed up because it lost focus of your intended target...not a good thing if you're taking pictures of little kids...they're always moving.
I decided to buy it because I look for phones that can last more than what features it has. This phone's durability reminds me of my 1st phone...although I could be wrong. It's strong and looks like it could last years. My 1st phone lasted about 5 years. It was very outdated as far as style but worked better and clearer than any other phone I've seen...even my friends with better phones had to agree. My 2nd phone was up to date. And even though I take good care of my things, started to show wear and tear in it's 1st year. By year 2, my phone was disabled...useless. There are a lot of things I don't like about this phone...as much as I'm up on technology this phone is just too complicated to use. I would still have purchased it. The pros definitely meet, if not exceed the cons so I'll just deal with the rest.

This phone is great. I love everything about it. It has a mp3 player, camcorder, and camera. You'll love this phone.

Has all the features of the A900 but costs less. Looks and feels more like a traditional clam shell but loaded with features. I'm extremely happy with it.

The A920, by Sprint PCS - is a Power Vision phone with spectacular clarity and resolution of the main screen. Despite the relatively small size for an internet use type phone, the fine detail of graphics if provides practically makes up for the small size.

Once setup properly the internet is stable, tv quite decent with little distortion, and audio is very good. The mp3 player is solid but there is not an equalizer which would help with the built in speakers. Even so, the reproduction is decent for the equipment involved, and certainly 'listenable'. Decent keypad - awkward like most regular pads for texting, but easy enough to get used to. All around - it's a good instrument worth having and holding on to.

I bought this phone because the one I had just like it got stolen and I did not want anything else that Sprint was offering. I love the feature set on this thing and it allows users to customize practically anything on the phone. There are several forums out there that help you to break into the phone and really open up the possibilities of what can be done. Phone as a Modem - FOR FREE! with power vision. Unlock GPS to use any application and use it free. So I save about $50 a month in features that I can take advantage of with this phone without it hitting me in the bank account. Internet is blazing on the EV DO network via my bluetooth enabled laptop. Not like cable but much better than even dial up. Its not like I would be downloading Multiple GBs on the road. I use it for getting email, looking up stuff, and other casual info while on the road. Pictures are decent. Nothing to write home about but if you want a camera, by a Canon, not a cell phone. Music sounds good. I have a 2 gb mini sd and it reads and keeps a lot of my favorite play lists.

If you are a techy, This thing is for you. It still rivals new phones that are released today with all of its features. You can't go wrong.

It is a good phone when it works. But the particular one had a manufacturer defect - it was heating during a phone conversation. I have been told by local repair shop that there is a motherboard problem and it is very common.
It took me three weeks and hours on a phone with Sprint and Samsung to fix the problem. Finally Samsung replaced the phone – Thanks.

This phone is loaded with tons of great features for a price that was far below the regular retail. I was simply amazed at how good the phone looked and even more suprised at all the options on this model. The last phone I purchased for about the same price didn't even compare to this one! My husband bought this phone for me for Christmas. I love this phone. It has almost every feature you can imagine. Bluetooth, Mp3 player, web browser, speakerphone, Digital Camera and Video as well. Everything but the kitchen sink. i highly recommend this phone.
