Samsung SGH T809 (T-Mobile)

If you are reading this and your getting ready to buy this phone but aren't sure because of all the bad reviews people give it. don't listen to them most of it is ridiculous about bluetooth and what not the phone is awesome it has great features and the thing with the battery life, just make sure that you don't play with the phone right away let it charge completely and hey just in case buy a car charger. I'm the type of kid that is constantly playing with their cell pone and texing 24/7. but yet i still have full battery life at the end of the day.

MY ONLY CONS:
if you close the phone while your sending a TeX message it automatically puts it under drafts don't get me wrong it still sends (minor thing though)

The phone is absolutely outstanding. The only flaw I found throughout my usage is the dust behind the screen. I spoke to Samsung after hours of being on hold and was told that this is actually normal and they would not exchange it. Good luck! Great phone otherwise.

Great phone. Owned it for about 2 months now, still flawless. A very stylish phone, gets you many good looks, and has many great features. Camera quality is excellent, PC compatibility is easy and flawless. Not a single complaint about the phone. Highly recomend this phone. Very underated and unhyped phone but easily matches up to competitors like the chocolate and the razr.

Overall:
The Samsung T809 is a great phone. Its the one I use myself.
It was Samsungs reply to Motorolla's Razr.

It's overall appearance and unique design is excellent, and fun to use. The screen is large and very crisp and pretty scratch resistant. Being a quad band, 1.3 mp camera, video capture (up to 10 min. or so with the memory card), edge technology, usb adapter, MP3 player, etc, makes this one fully loaded phone. I also used if for internet access for my computer and performed nicely. It has some interesting camera editing features as well.

Cons:
The phone does not have a flash, and in dim light it's very easy to blur a picture. The camera sound also goes off without anyway to stop it, and it does so not during the moment it takes the picture, so you can find yourself holding the phone up wondering if you have kept it up long enough to get the shot. The batter life is terrible, it was a pain to continually recharge it. The software on the CD I found hard to use to download pictures.


Some known issues:
1)The memory card sometimes will want to disconnect,
2)the power button sometimes delays before shutting off which only causes a problem when you hit it twice thinking that you didn't shut it off, and then it comes back on. This can cause embarrasement in areas that your phone was supposed to be off, and it starts ringing after you thought it was off.
3)The biggest of all however is the battery life. Good luck trying to go more than a day or two without recharging it. If you buy it you may want to invest in a extra battery or car charger.
4)When taking a picture it by default asks if you would like to send it to your tmobile account. I found this very annoying.

Summary:
The phone was great for its first release. Like many others owners of it, I wish they would have made new models addressing some of the above issues.

this phone is the best phone i ever had.
i think samsung knows what consumers want.

i bought this phone more than a year ago, and my contract is over now, so i got a new rizr z3 (motorola). but guess what? i'm still using my old phone. i'm planning to sell my new phone.
this rizr sucks the whole time even thouhg it came out a year later than the t809.

u can change ur slide tones, make ur own ringtone (requires computer), can even change ur size and color of text and its background color too!
1.3 mega pixel camera.
it shows u how many missed calls u have from how many different people and even times!!!! up to 20+. (my bf called me 26 times and this phone still showed everything and when he called each time!)
plus all kinds of features other phones have also!

just don't understand why this phone is discontinued and why samsung didn't advertise that much....

some people who wrote before me said if you need to take pix or videos, u need to go around, but that's not true. he or she doesn't know how to use it.
u just need to click on the pic button right above the round button, then u can take pix! and if u want to switch it to video, just push number 1. then it switches to video, and one more 1 button, then back to pix.

better read manual! and maximize the awsome features this phone has!

Great product! What I loved most was the inclusion of a bluetooth ear piece. I thought that was very nice of the seller. I see that as a clear bonus to the product. The packaging was also very good. The phone was exactly what I expected.

Very impressed!

The product that I purchased Works well. The Seller did'nt ship all the contents that were shown. After contacting the seller we came to an agreement which he never fully completed. But I feel that I got a great deal on the product and it works great. My complaint stops there.

i have been using this phone over a year. i got it from T-mobile and it is unlocked now. It works like New.
Pros :
1.Good Reception , no signal issues, or call drops.
2.stylish,always modern
3.Bluetooth, MP3 ringtones, Music Player.
4.Bright screen.( clear wallapers)

Cons :
1. key pressing sometimes irritating. You sometimes miss the keys and slide your fingers to the other key since the keypad is smooth.

Didn't find any other fault in this phone yet.

Overall , this is wonderful phone. i am proud of having it.

I liked this phone very much, when it comes to functionality, battery life, LOUD SPEAKER, huge display, better than average camera during the day...

However, there a def a few large dislikes about this phone... 1. LCD screen is nice and large, BUT cracks and breaks VERY EASY!! Within 2 weeks of buying this phone the screen broke while in my pocket... 2. My second phone (as it was replaced under warrenty) got a little wet in a rainstorm, while in my pocket, and the keypad stopped working right...

I would recommend this phone, BUT ONLY if you leave it in your house, on your dresser, and didnt use it often.. I dont abuse phones, or even overuse them.. I had never broken a cellphone before this one, and this model broke 2 times within 1 Year!!! If you have a history of broken phones, STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE!!

I've had this phone since it came out, and recently "upgraded" to the next model (after I dropped my original t809 into the ocean).

I am now trying to buy another one of the t809. Everything about it is awesome, including the normal fonts, the personalization features, mp3, and the swivel camera. The "upgrade" has that crappy robot font, annoying tones, and blah.

A+++++ on this phone. It will keep me buying samsung for life, that's for sure.

The camera is great and the phone is a perfectly thin design. The call quality is great and the resolution is top quality.

first of all i think this phone is amazing.... its brilliant. my friends all have this phone and thats why i want to be different and get rid of it. other wise i wuold keep it.

This was a replacement for my son's broken phone. When T*Mobile said this phone was discontinued he was really bummed, he loved this phone. They offered him a razor, a perfectly fine phone, which he hated. For his birthday I decided to surprise him with his old favorite, the Samsung SGH T809, he was thrilled! Even used, he thought it was better than his new razor.

i love my new phone, it works really well. the delivery took a bit long but it's ok. i get reception almost everywhere, and the pictures taken with it come out very clear.

phone work normal , i had some issue with the memory card phone is not working as I expected , but i was looking for more features on it

I REALLY LIKE THE PHONE, IS IN GREAT CONDITION ......GREAT SELLER..WOULD BUY IT AGAIN FROM SELLER. THE ONLY THING IDON'T LIKE ABOUT IT IS BECAUSE IS BLACK..I WOULD LIKE A DIFFERENT COLOR...BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE IT..

The style is outstanding and easy to use. The phone has a lot of neat stuff on it to learn. Samsung has put out a great product this time. I had this phone for only a month. Hopefully the next 23 months will be just as good as this first one.

I like the phone it came if good condition with very few scratches on it as described. i bought the phone because i wanted that phone and to buy it without buying a contract was 400 dollars and i bought this one for 120 it was a great buy. i am happy with the phone.

Large Screen, good pictures, but bought used phone which does not hold charge too long so will need to buy new battery. Phone is good.

ike that pattern of cellular, it is very sophisticated, and has many extras, as mp3, camera of 1.3 megapixel, a very luminous screen, is also thin and light, for that reason it is that I like this mark samsung a lot.

My husband wanted the T809 slider phone and tried to bid for one off ebay but was unsuccessful. So I tried without him knowing. Well when the phone got here I was upset just it was marked up across the screen, nicked on the corners, and couldn't even be used cause the seller didn't even charge the battery so it was completely dead. But my husband was still grateful for it.
