Samsung SCX-4500 Laser Printer is a great monochrome laser printer for those who want the convenience and space for a whisper-quite operation. The design and look of the printer are attractive yet functional. The paper and ink are easier to load and the scanner takes high-res pictures with crystal clear quality with an intuitive interface. I needed a printer that could give me the quality I need for my documents and with the laser paper I use (28lbs 98 bright), my documents come out with a professional clean look. For text designs that I use of brochures and content listings, the text comes out with a deep rich black color. And for those who use Photoshop the tonal color of black and white look fantastic. I recommend this printer for general use and for those who want to save money while not sacrificing quality.

I haven't used this for any extended period of time but I am very happy with the performance (appears to be identical to my Samsung SCX-4200 I've had now for over 2 years with no problems. While it may not be suitable for a high volume/demand office type setting it certainly works for my home office. The main feature I love about it is it's looks. Very sleek and since my computer desk is just off from my living room, it fits in nicely. I read several complaints about it no having a paper tray for output but this is not the case, there is a clear plastic support to put on the output side that works nicely. Overall, I am very well pleased with the unit. Scanning can be a little slow but not bad, wakes up from sleep pretty fast, prints good, laser is a lot cheaper than ink too.

I'm traveling in a small trailer and wanted a printer and scanner for my mobile office..... something that wouldn't take up too much room. The Samsung SCX-4500 fits the bill very well. It stores nicely out of the way till needed, warms up very quickly and prints quietly. The scanner is very handy too and barely adds any dimension to the printer.
