Reviews Review created: 07/21/08 by: The PDA Features are excellent but not having the ability to take or recieve picture messages was a big downer but for those who dont need that feature it is a excellent PDA phone. Review ID: 10000000008042581 Was this review helpful? Report this review I just really like this phone, very easy to use and sounds very clear. The Mobile Pc works wonderfully. I use this phone for business and pleasure. It can also play games and use as a remote control for most tv's. Review ID: 10000000007843941 Was this review helpful? Report this review I have had two of these, the first, about a year ago, and I have one now currently, in between that time, I also used the HTC Wizard and the HTC Blue Angel. The I730 is a large phone, but has a smaller screen than either of the HTCs, this makes it look a little better (imho) because the pixels are smaller. I have had some problems with the I730, so I will expound them now, and then get down to why its actually a pretty decent phone. The first one I had, the wifi did not work at all, and the speaker did not work, so I had to put it on speakerphone or use a headset, and the LCD sometimes showed funny colours. The one I have now, the wifi is finicky, and the the bottom half of the touch screen does not work. These are some common problems with this model. So get a new one if you can, and make sure if you get a used one, that it does not have these issues. No issues asside, its a very decent PDA, it offers wifi, bluetooth (support for stereo headphones is really, really cool) and a regular sized SD slot, which is handy, because you can use SDIO cards for all sorts of cool things, and for cards with bigger storage capacities (up to 32gb with SDHC cards). The phone works fairly well, sometimes the microphone has a tendency to cut out when an incoming text message or other alert interrupts the phone. This can be annoying... The I730 is one of the more powerful PDA phones available. Its ARM processor runs at 520mhz stock, and can be easily overclocked to 624mhz or faster for playing games. If you like games, the I730 is a good choice. The button layout is decent, and if your game is portrait, the keyboard can come in handy. The keyboard is not terrible, its a thumbs only venture here however, and if you have big hands, you may find typing on it rather difficult. If your hands are small to medium sized, typing should be fine. The battery life is about 48hrs with an extended battery and moderate use, or about 24 with heavy use. The regular battery is worthless to me, because it does not last a whole day with heavy use. It does ok for normal to light use though. With the extended battery, it makes a pretty bulky addition to a pocket, a snap in belt clip makes this a moot point though, and I highly recommend you get one. Over all, I would give the Samsung a 4/5, when everything works properly, its a great phone/PDA. My one gripe is the lack of a camera, but most cell phone cameras take horrible pictures anyway, but its still something handy to have. Review ID: 10000000007130125 Was this review helpful? Report this review Review created: 10/24/07 by: 0 of 1 people found this review helpful. this is by far the most superior PDA of the last 3 years. whoever disagrees is low tech, and should be on AT&T and sporting the iPhone to impress their friends. if you love pure PDAs that work well in their original form, i730 is for you. Hint: DO NOT upgrade to the new OS, it does not work well on this phone. It is fast enough in its original state. It plays video, MP3s and even SlongPlayer Mobile works on it flawlessly.
