    Introduction
I bought the samsung sway about two months ago and have been regretting it ever since. First of all, it's hard to open without using both hands. Secondly it's very, very slow. I can have a whole sentence text'd and the phone will still be on the first line. It is not a good phone to text on. Thirdly and most importantly is that the battery SUCKS! I mean really. My last phone I could talk for a few hours and still have the phone on standby for another day or two. This phone, if you talk on it for more than 20-30 minutes the standby time is reduced to about 3-4 hours. I have to charge this phone at least once if not more a day. Fourthly it is beeping and stuff constantly in your pocket. Not good. When you go to look at a picture in your inbox that you have already seen and your phone has already downloaded, it takes like 5 seconds for it open up. The camera is slow. The only good thing that I can say is that it's thin and light. Do not buy this phone if you like to text. Do not buy this phone if you don't like to carry your charger around with you everywhere you go. Do not buy this phone if you like to operate your phone with one hand. I think samsung needs to do a recall and give me and others our money back. I had an LG VX8300 before this one and it was soooo much better. I would talk for hours and could rest assured that the phone would not die if I didn't plug it in every 12 hours. That LG was so much better for texting and battery life. You could also open it with one hand. You also didn't have to wait forever for the camera to start, or for text/pic messages to open. I am definitely not waiting for the "new every two". Next paycheck this phone goes in the trashcan.

      Great Slider Phone

I swear by Samsung cell phones. The Sway is the third in a series of Samsung phones that I've owned (my last Samsung lasted three years and still held a battery charge for four days at the end of its life). When shopping for a new phone, I knew I wanted a slider phone and was hoping Samsung had one available. They did: the newly released Sway. So far, the phone has met all my expectations for the quality I have come to expect from the company.

The LCD screen is bright, large and colorful, a wonderful display that rivals anything less than a touchscreen. The 2.0 megapixel camera is a real gem, snapping large, high-quality photos with ease. The menus, too, are easy to navigate with lots of cool extras: three calculators, MP3 ringtones, games, VCAST and Web browsing. Calls come through loud and crisp, and the speakerphone performs its job adequately.

There are a few downsides I've encountered, but nothing to make me resent buying the phone. Perhaps the biggest is the lack of any grip when sliding the phone open. It will take a few weeks to loosen the sliding mechanism, and forget about opening the phone if your hands are greasy or sweaty.

The other downside is the lack of a headphone jack. This means that any wired earpiece you might own is not compatible. The Sway is bluetooth enabled, so you'll have to get a bluetooth earpiece if you want/need hands-free use.

Otherwise, Samsung has released yet another capable phone that is sleek, stylish and packed with features for both the casual and die-hard user alike.

Thanks for reading. If you found this review helpful, please vote "yes" at the bottom of this entry.

      Sway not bad at all....surprised!

I was a bit hesitant to get this phone since everyone said it's bad with texting...ok, the texting IS too slow for my liking; but faster than I thought it would be. I got this phone since my daughter is on my plan....and had just gotten a new phone....got outta' her car and her phone fell into a storm drain in DC! Long story short, I had the LG Voyager...which had sooo many features; but I don't go on the internet and she does. So I researched and it was between the Glyde and the Sway. I have read so many awful reviews on the Glyde, that I just was not comfortable getting it! So besides the fact that this phone does not have a keyboard, it works awesome! Cute sounds; cute look; very lightweight; can hold an 8MB micro, the camera actually takes better pics than the Voyager! Other downside is that it has no notch to open without putting prints on the screen...didn't come with a USB cable and I am not sure yet if I can put songs on it directly from my PC; or if I have to buy the subscription service! I have played with it a lot; talked only a bit; charged it last night; and was down to 2 bars today...a bit surprised on that...I do carry my phone charger with me wherever I go; so not a real biggie; it just seemed to run down too quickly for what I had done...?!
Call quality seems just fine also...can't turn it up too loud, though. I am liking the form factor, very slim and light...compared to the Voyager and the Env and the Env2; which seemed like bricks...'course they had keyboards!
So I will give this a 'good' although Average seems more like it! Can we change the 'Good' category to above average!?!? LOL-'cause then I'd give it an 'Average'!......

Update to above review! Battery was sooooo bad; and texting was sooooo slow; that I sent the phone back to Verizon. I was really sad to see it go; if the darn battery didn't need charging twice a day (with light usage); and if it didn't text SO slow; I really would have kept it!! The phone was so light and cute; as stated above....but that battery and the snail texting got to me; so I sent it back..ah; and the camera worked AWESOME!
