Samsung SCH U540 (Verizon Wireless)

The graphics are great, the quality is excellent and its a pre paid phone thru verizon wireless thats what makes it extra special. Comparing other pre paid providers Verizon is the best that I can find and this pre paid phone is the best on the consumer market as of right now.

I purchased the Samsung SCH U540 phone about 5 weeks ago to replace a very basic phone that was 5 years old. Quite a jump! I had no difficulty updating the carrier with the new phone info using the Internet. The phone was in excellent condition and was bundled with an AC charger, DC charger, belt clip and stereo ear buds with an in-line mic for hands-free operation. The SCH U540 features include Bluetooth, speakerphone, a 1.3 MP camera, video recorder, MP3 player and the usual software tools i.e. contact list, appointment scheduler etc. It also has Internet capabilities (which I don’t use) that include e-mail, and the ability to download video and music. I especially like the easy to read color screen, the large buttons on the keypad and the intuitive, easy to navigate menus although accessing some of the features seems to require an excessive number of selections. The voice recognition software in the speakerphone mode is excellent and you can dial numbers from the contact list by speaking a name you entered in the contact list – no “learning” is required – nice! Pictures from the camera seem “flat” but can be enhanced on a PC and I’ve even used a couple in a club newsletter that I publish. Soon after receiving the phone, a 2 GB memory chip and USB cable (with software) were purchased to transfer MP3s, pictures, video and contact information between my PC and phone. The MP3 player has no treble or bass controls but the sound through headphones is crisp and clear. The speakerphone stereo speakers can also be used to play music but the sound is a bit tinny. MP3’s can be played with the phone closed and there are touch controls on the front of the phone to pause, skip forward and skip backward. These controls are extremely sensitive and an inadvertent brush will activate them. Battery life has been good, I charge it for a couple of hours every three days or so – my phone call usage is quite light but I do use the MP3 player every day during my exercise routine. Overall the phone exceeds all of my expectations and I’m very happy with it.

The only thing we need is the usb connector, so that we can download music. The battery and wall charger were included. My son's Verizon phone The Juke, kept malfuncioning, and we had replaced it once already, so we just decided to find another phone with MP3 download capability. He is happy, so I am too.

I would definitely use this seller again and have added them to my favorites.

DOES WELL. GOT FOR HUSBAND GIFT. SEEMS TO LIKE. HUSBAND WANTED NEW PHONE SO HE GOT IT. HAS SOME TROUBLE WITH TAKING PICTURES. DOES'NT WANT TO WORK BUT DEALS WITH IT.

I think that something people would like is the ringer volume. Wow! It's loud. You actually have to turn it down. It has 2 little stereo speakers. The menu is very user friendly. It has a pretty good choice of built in ringers. I like the fact that the front outside display has photo caller id. The camera does take slightly fuzzy looking photos but what can you expect from a phone. It's very slim, and lightweight. I would suggest putting a case on it though. My wife has already accidentally damaged the display on the outside and now it doesn't work. Other than that, the phone, when I received it, was in perfect working condition.

Excellent price, condition, seller, deal. I received a like new Samsung U540 for Verizon Wireless Service, I won this item for 5 dollars I didn't expect it to be the greatest but it was other than the missing battery back it was 100 times better than expected.

I liked this Samsung U540 from this seller so much I bid on the other U540 this seller had and I won, and I know the other one will be just as good.

Excellent. -I purchased this phone for my son 13 yrs.old. He dropped (a few times) and broke his other phone. He has been very happy with this product. Actually, he really enjoys this phone and likes it much better than the one he had. The ease of use, the design and the enhancements offer with this phone has made this cell phone product the best phone he has owned. Interestingly, his friends like his phone too. Some more than their own phones and most of them have newer/"better"/more expenseve. We think it is the look and feel of this phone. Along with the clear screen works. Nothing spectacular, does it's job, has big buttons, but it makes a lot of noise while it is charging, not sure if it is supposed to or not, but I just flip it open to charge and everything is fine. No complaints, does what it should.

This phone allows me to add and subtract national broadband service as I need without having an additional contract. It does many more things than I need but it still works as a solid phone with great battery life!

I bought a used phone a week ago. Got it in the mail within days. Very happy with the timely delivery.

A great phone, easy to use, great battery life, compact. I actually had this phone already and when mine started to get beaten up, I decided to look fo rthe same phone! My old one was 4 years old, but still worked. I think Samsung makes a great phone. I just wish the camera had a zoom lens on it.

This is a great cell phone for the money you spend. It is very compact and easy to carry. The camera resolution is great and I like the SD Mini card feature which allows you to store more music and pictures.

I used to have a SCH-U540 cell phone not too long ago when I replaced it with a BlackBerry as a part of Verizon's "New Every Two". I have no complaints about the BlackBerry but the data plan that verizon Wireless requires you to have was out of my budget. So, I did a search for the last cell phone I had, the Samsung SCH-U540, and I found one!

In short, the SCH-U540 is well worth every penny and is a reliable cell phone.

I love this phone! It's east to text on and I love the big front display screen. The battery life could be better but that's not a big deal to me. Over all, this was the perfect phone for me.

I gave it an excellent even though it is just a straight forward no frills phone. It is a great phone for the person that does not need or want a lot of extras.

It was almost a junk.
The description introduced it like a new.
But when i got it, I totally disappointed.
Case was worn out, and a frazzle pouch.
The wall charger was absent.
So I wrote an email to seller,
and opened a dispute to return it immediately.
And seller agreed shortly.
I wasted return shipping payment and one day only.
Now I don't see any used item.
