Samsung SCH A310 (Verizon Wireless)

This phone is probably nearing the end of its life cycle. It does not have a color screen and it does not have a camera like the majority of cell phones do these days however, I am one of the few people who did not want a camera phone or extras on my cell phone. I can honestly say that this phone has been slammed, dropped and mishandled more times than I care to remember and guess what? It still works. The reception is great (probably more because of the service I have which is verizon wireless) but anyhow, I have probably only dropped 3 calls in the 2 years I've had this phone. It does have some phantom moments when it won't call out and I have to turn the phone off and on again but that can be attributed to my poor handling of the phone. All in all, I would recommend this phone. If you are looking for an inexpensive phone without all the frills- this is it. One thing is for sure, the SCHA310 has made me a Samsung fan for life.

i have sold over 1500 of this model and have found them to hold up very well. they have had the lowest amount of problems after 6 months time

This was by far the worst phone I ever owned.... I went through three phones in a year and a half. There was something wrong with the phone receiving signals. I could make calls but but when the other person answered my phone there would be silence. Had this happened only once one might attribute it to a faulty phone but twice? The third phone broke for no reason I went to turn it on one day and it never turned on. I've had nokia phones that have lasted 3 years, My LG phone has lasted 2 years and is going. I have had a miserable time with every samsung I have owned but particularly with this model.

I bought the Samsung SCH A310 because my wife was considering paying $40 for a new one from an on-line cell phone store. I found the phone on eBAY and got it for $.99 (plus S&H). Not a bad deal, but not a great phone, either:

1. Single-color display. That is, you choose the color and the entire display is that one color.
2. Battery doesn't last long. This may be because the battery is getting old. Not sure. It has to be charged after a couple of calls.
3. Button placement. The OK button is over to the right, above the END key, instead of in the center of the directional keys. Awkward.

All-in-all, it ain't a bad phone if all you want to do is make and receive calls, especially since you can get the phone dirt cheap. But if you want any other features, look somewhere else.

Ths A310 Samsung is an excellect phone, If you work outside in he sun, a color screen is impossible to see.
The rush to color screens are both pretty and popular but not practical in the outdoor sun. With the samsung non color screen you can tip the screen into the sun and it aluminates the screen for easy viewing ,even with sunglassed on.
This makes the phone handy and fast to use in the sun. If you work outsine in the sun loose those color screens and get non color screens. The planner works very well for meetings, alarm for wakeups and voice dialing. Excellent for on the go professinal.

The phone was not in as good of shape as I expected. But I just hope it will last until my contract is up when I will leave Verizon since I don't like thier service.

This was a very inexpensive replacement for the cell phone my teenage son lost. It fills the purpose very well and the price was great.

does needed a pelacement phone for verizon service and thsi one does the job. no bells or whistles but it works fine at a low ebay price.
ebay is the best place to buy replacement cell phones if you do not have anrew phone credit with your wireless provider

I have owned 4 of these phones,I have worn, dropped, watered them. I love them and hope you keep making them. Sorry Verizon discontinued them. I buy all of my phones off E-Bay now. It will be a sad day when I can't use this phone due to upgrades. It's easy to use, and dependable.

My camera phone recently broke and I needed a cheap replacement. The only thing cheap about this phone was the price I paid for it. It works like a champ and has almost all of the features that nmy newer phone had. It has great reception, alarm, phone book, memo pad, the basic features that you need. I would highly recommend it.

This was a great way to replace a broken or lost cell phone without spending a fortune on a new one. Works great!

I needed a phone after killing mine..it came with many extras and was well worth all the money I sppent for it !!

The phone is probably outdated, but still works great. It is simple and does what my wife wanted it to do. She is not having any problems with it and the battery holds up fine. Good reception and very serviceable. Very pleased with the seller, too. Very fast service. We needed a phone that worked and we needed it fast. He came through and we are very pleased.

THE BATTERY LIFE IS NOT AS LONG AS MY 2 PREVIOUS PHONES. IT IS AN OLDER PHONE AND THE QUALITY IS VERY GOOD

This is a good phone for the price I paid. There tends to be static on outgoing calls periodically but it's infrequent.
I would definitely continue to use EBay for cell phone purchases.

this phone is about as ancient in flip phones you can get but for what we wanted, which wasn't much(no camera, color, mp3) it is what it is....

For the money, this phone is well worth it. I don't have any complaints about this phone. NO, it doesn't have all of the extra luxuries but do we really need it. If you are looking for the color screen, the camera, etc., you will have to pay a lot more for your phone. This phone is perfect for a cellphone. The battery stays charged for a good while, the phone has good service in my area. All in all I am really satisfied and have no complaints.

This is a simple cell phone with few bells and whistles. We have had several. The outside screen is nice, you can see the time and coverage. The black and white screen can be easily read outdoors.

I bought this item for my daughter and my daughter loves it. The shipping was quick and thru our mail, which was good for me. Otherwise I would have had to travel to get it. I was a little disapointed when I unpackaged the phone and it was still put together. Normally phones should have the batteries removed and wrapped for shipping purposes. But everything worked out fine and over all we are very pleased.

I bought this phone because I had lost my phone.
This is the first time I bought something on ebay, and I wasn't sure whether I could trust the quality of my purchase. Therefore, I went with a cheap phone, just in case. It turns out that I should have bought a new one in a store because it is a lousy phone. It turns itself off after half an hour (an hour if I'm lucky, saying that the battery is low although it is fully charged...so, I guess the battery is about to die completely...I am just happy that I didn't shell out a lot of money!

This phone is great if you only make calls, tex message and only need simple
features. I purshased it for a back up phone in case mine should fail, get lost, ect. It does not have a camera or alot of features as the newer phones.
If you are a no frills kind of person, don't need bells and whistles, this is your phone. It is very durable and can take some abuse. Hope this helps, Sandy
