I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this camcorder!! It is so easy to use, and takes wonderful videos. My kids can operate this! It's lightweight and compact, making it easy to take anywhere. I love the "backlight" feature that adds light to the picture when you're in lower lit areas.
It has so many options. Plus, you can watch what you've filmed through your vcr {and record it at the same time}, or download it to your computer to edit it before burning it to disc.
The battery lasts a long time, so I was truly impressed with that.

I think Samsung had done it again. Great quality product at a low price. Please be reminded that the mini USB cord is not for downloading video file although you can do it. Many other brands do not have this funtion! You can capture picture on the mini dv tapes!! I have not found another that can.
Please use it in moderately lit area. Study lamp is good enough. If you are thinking about shooting it using TV emitted light, forget it.
Its a great camcorder but please advice that you would need to buy a firewire cable for video image transfer. It does not include as a standard. None of the camcorders in the market include them as standard anyway.
Included software is Ulead video editor! costly software! I saw the canon camcorder and the software included sucks.
If u need to just record an event and play it back in VCD quality, its a great camcorder. If you want more, I suggest you go for the bulky pro-camcorder. Anything inbetween seems to be just fooling around anyway.
Only downside, need memory stick. If it were SD card, would be great! If I could get a 2nd with memroy stick included even if its 512 mb its great as only mpeg4 movie can be recorded.

This is a great video camcorder that works well. The 353 has a memory stick slot so you can take digital still pics. You can also save them on your mini dv tape. Fairly cheap but gets the job done. SC-D353 HAS A INTERNAL MIC INPUT ,USB, FIREWIRE INPUTS ALSO. The camcorder does not have the nite pix feature that the 453 has. This is digital and excepts mini dv tapes. Very lightweight and easy to use. If you are looking for a inexpensive digital mini dv camcorder with a memory stick acceptable camcorder this will be the one for you.

BrokenCamera has hardley been used and the LCD screen now displays nothing but lines. Takes poor video in low light. Emailed customer service, got a canned message to call them...so nobody read it.

I feel that this camera is great for the everyday consumer. For the price it has a large list of options. I used it for a project for my job. It is easy to use and the size is a plus. I realy like the camera. However, for professional project the picture quality is a little on the average side. In all, for everyday home use its great.

This is an average camera. It has many plastic components so I am not sure how long it will last. It is small, which is both good and bad. Easy to carry, travel with, etc.. but a little difficult to adjust and film at the same time. It was among the lowest priced cameras and we got what we paid for. It would be good for a child, teen,or anyone's first digital video camera. All in all, it is a good camera - not great, just good!

I bought this camera as a present for my husband to tape my childrens sporting events. It seemed to work ok and then it started eating the tapes. We have tried several more times and are still having the same problem. We contacted customer service for Samsung and they told us the camera was out of warranty but we could ship it to them (our cost) and there would be a charge to fix it.
We contacted a local camera store and they wanted $55.00 just to look at it.
While it was a lower cost unit, I think I will spend a little more for a better camera, wasted $167.00.

This is a very feature rich camera that is easy to use. Even though we will probably never take the time to learn to use all it's features, for a moderately priced movie camera, it's great. One word of caution, to avoid disappointment, be sure you disconnect the battery after using.

I like the size of the camera, and the easy use. We bought the product in hopes that we could repair it and use it for our newborn's first movements. We are having a hard time finding parts to fix it with. Even the maker Samsung does not provide the part needed.

This camcorder is a piece of heaven. Light weight, easy to use, crisp clear videos, many options and functions inlcuding stablization...etc. And for the price you get on ebay? you can't go wrong with it!

This is a pretty nice camera. Easy to use and good for beginners. It's a little skimpy on some features but for the price its not bad. I bought this camera for the price but I wish I would have waited and and gotten one with more features for a little more money. I have actually recently bought another camera, a Sony HI8/Digital 8 camera that I think has more features and a much better picture. If you like small cameras this one is nice.
