I go for the top end and am used to things like Sony's best flat screen black CRT some years ago, but this leap frogged that. You can see a great picture even if you are too close to the screen. My wife said this 52" would be to big for our house when we ordered it, but with this kind of clear picture the old norms for how big the TV screen should be are out the window. It's now no more than a two to one ratio. 100 inches infront of this 52 inch TV is clear as a bell. My wife even agrees, now that is progress. The sound on this unit is even great without an amp. There are no negatives except you need help mounting this bueaty, and up grade your cable and DVD to HD if you want the same experience. Review ID: 10000000004930652 Was this review helpful? At $1,000 less than Best Buy (on sale), I could not resist. I am so glad I did as this television totally rocks! It is beyond my wildest dreams as a 52" computer monitor and I watch Vongo and NetFlix movies from my PC with superb clear viewing. I also love putting my aquarium screensaver or Winamp visualizations through this television due to the incredible display.
