Samsung DVD-VR375 DVD Recorder / VCR Combo

I like the Samsung DVD-VR375 recorder/vcr combo because not only can I watch my exsisting dvds and vhs tapes but I can also record my favorite shows from the tv or, if I choose I can dub from one media to the other. For instance I can dub my vhs tapes to dvd to make room for my movies without haveing to buy more shelving.
However, the Vr-375 can be a little complicated for those that are not very technicle minded. Other than that I have no complaints.

I bought this item 'cause I needed transfer some old VHS tapes to DVD. I haven't use this option yet, but if you go to Bestbuy.com you'll see some horrors about this equipment. Anyway, Item is in working condition.

Great product! This player/recorder is outstanding and is as simple or complex to use as you make it. Has easy to understand instructions for simple dubbing or more complex operations such as detailed editing. This Samsung product will not let you down. The only thing I can see that needs improvement is the visibility (bightness) of the screen display and button controls. They should be larger print and a brighter white. Overall, I am very satisfied.

I am very happy with my purchase. The DVD / VCR works very well.I selected this DVD / VCR because it was new and not refubished.

Samsung is reliable and makes a good upconverting dvd. Having the convenience of a vcr in same unit for kid's tapes is a plus!!!

This DVD/VCR combo has a lot of features for the small price tag. It's very nice to be able to record any of my shows that are on DVR direct to DVD-R media and play them on any other player in my house. The one touch record makes it very simple to use and it indexes multiple shows on one DVD. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that is interested.

Absolutely fantastic product quality and pricing. Not complicated to hook up and figure out it's features. Overall, I am a VERY HAPPY CAMPER!.

So far so good -- works as stated. Dubbed vhs to dvd - easy! And plays dvd, vhs, and cd's. Only missing a tv-tuner -- so bot another brand recorder to cover that.
Also works well linking with new Samsung HDTV.

This unit is perfect for what it's intended for. Very easy to set up and use; the on-screen menu is very intuitive and practically guides you through the basic setup. If you're not familiar with various terms (16:9, resolution settings, etc.) the manual will serve as a good reference.

One drawback it has is the front display. It's so dim you can't see it from across the room. Fortunately all commands are acknowledged on-screen so you can tell what the unit is doing. This is the only reason I didn't rate the unit as excellent.

Be wary of copy-guarded VHS tapes - the unit will not copy them to DVD, and you will only find out after starting the copy and wasting a blank DVD.

I HAVE TRIED MANY BRANDS OF DVD/VCR COMBOS AND THIS ONE GIVES ME NO TROUBLE, IT IS THE BEST. RCA AND MOTOROLA, AND PANASONIC GAVE ME TROUBLE.

Easy set-up, one-touch dubbing. Good signal quality. Transport motor is a little noisy. Attractive display.

It was cheating my money. It was mentioned new, but used. It said it could play AVI, but not. Wasting my time and money. I will not deal the people in Ebay any more. This was third I got cheat from here.

I had to return this model because I wasn't able to record programs off of the TV. The manual is unnecessarily complicated which added to the problem. I've dealt with many dvd/vcr products and this was by far the most complicated and frustrating player. Samsung must have thought it was a good idea to do things different than other players when I would think most people want to deal with products they already have a working understanding of. This is my opinion.

Love this DVD/VCR Recorder. The only problem I had was to know if I needed to set up the menu as going through the set top or not. That was a little confusing in the instructions. It records great on VCR. I haven't tried recording on the DVD yet. The instructions should be clearer than they are. It took some figuring out.

It has very easy access to both vcr and dvd. If you want to convert any old vcr, camcorder tapes for you or your family, this is the one you need to buy. I can also enjoy non-HDTV cable or Satellite channel through HDTV port.

I was in the market for a machine that would dub VHS tapes to DVD format. I didn't even know Samsung made one until I started my research. I own a Samsung plasma TV & a 2nd Samsung cell phone, & have been very happy with their quality. When I saw that this unit had HDMI, it was a done deal!!!

I was very satisfied with the recorder. It was shipped quickly, packed well and was complete. It was a fantastic price and is working perfectly. I had been looking for just this type of recorded to convert our VHS tapes to DVD and I couldn't pass up such a great opportunity.

I bought this product because I want to replace my old dvd/vcr combo. I chose this product mainly bec. of the upscaling feature and its hdmi connection. So far, I'm very satisfied with this product.

Pros:

I can watch any dvd including the one that came in Asia.
I can transfer movies from dvd to vcr or vice versa.

Cons:

Hard to setup.
Long waiting time after you turn on the system.

I think this unit is great. It has and does all I wanted it to do. It copys from tapes to dvds or from dvds to tape. It records from tv and other tape/disk machines. It has full HD up scaling. It has A/V jacks. HDMI jack. And S video jacks. It's real easy to use. It does things Ididn't know it could do. Like frame by frame dubing. I am still learning new I can do with it. It makes me happy every time I use it. Also I got a real good price on it. Thanks to eBay and their wonderful sellers!

I really like this piece of equipment. Works great! Use it to record movies or tv shows. I like the ease of operation and it does a very good job of recording the movies I like.

I like that it is a dvd vcr combo. It goes well with our new HD tv and definitely does its job with upconverting. I would recommend this product.
