Samsung DVD-R130 DVD Recorder

I was a little skeptical at first, but the item was exactly as described. This little baby records great and playback is flawless. I couldn't be more happier with this purchase for the price I got it at.....Starting 4 months later......
I should have known that you get what you pay for - In no time flat it started not recognizing preplayed disks, then it quit recognizing blank disks and wouldn't format them, now it won't even recognize a brand new CD. It plays when it wants to and only when it wants to - The only thing it plays consistently are the disks I burnt on it.

This item came in excellent time and in the exact quality stated in the listing. Item works perfectly, and I am enjoying being able to record and watch my favorite shows!

I like its functions and it works really well. I already had one that has performed flawlessly for about 18 months,almost no coasters. My only gripe applies to all DVD recorders, is that they are nowhere as easy to use as the old VCR's are. You have to Format (Prepare Disc) before use,after recording you have to Finalise disc so that it will play in other DVD players.The TV screen you are watching blanks out till the Finalizing is completed. This disturbed my lady because she misses a few minutes of what she is watching. She also still records on a VCR because it is so simple to use compared to the DVD REcorders.All model recorders have to go thro similar Formatting and finaling.
THe Samsung is AOK once you learn to use it.
PS The tuner is only Analog so will not record channers from over the air after the change to all HD TV.

Recorder works well, remote is user friendly, good picture quality and it has digital audio out. Thats all I need!

This unit dosen't play CD-R's,but it's light weight and looks nice. I purchased it because it records from T.V., camcorder using DV input, DVD players and VCR. Without having an internal harddrive, you have to use blank DVD-R/-RW. Remote is designed well and easy to use.

The DVD recorder is great. I've already made 15 dvd's from shows I taped on my dvr from our cable company. All the dvd's have at least 4 programs on each dvd.
They play great and even work on my computer and other DVD player. The seller was great.

I like it because it was easy to set up. has lots of features and the price was right. I decided to buy it because I wanted a DVD recorder and I had been looking for one at a reasonable price. Dislikes, the instruction manual is a little vague.

This recorder did not play nor record well at all. It did not read most disk
and timer recording did not operate at all. I bided an won 2 R120's and they
both perform very good. Stay away from the R130.

I buy it but it not working, and i return to seller already but until today my money still somewher, Money not refun to my acc credit card yet!

samsung is one of the best and affordable electronics manufacturers. i can say you can compare it with sony in quality to a great extent but minus the price. i can close my eyes and buy any item from samsung. I bought this DVD R-130 just because of the name and best of all, its price.I do have a 56'' Samsung LCD tv with which i'm totally satisfied except a bit of sound out put,so i thought it goes well with the same brand. DVD R 130 has a sleek design,delivers a crystal clear picture with out any aberrations, easy to use remote and a beautiful black finish. I have philips and some other DVD players before with which i never satisfied. I highly recommend any electronic gadget from Samsung,to any one who deos not know which brand to choose. It always exceeded my expectations. both in quality and performance.I Can say the best alternative for the Expensive SONY products.

i never received it or have heard back from them after trying to e-mail them to see what was going on with it. i wanted it for ghost hunting work but i guess thats not going to happen. if they would just get in touch with me and tell me some thing. i have not had any problem with any thing on e-bay until now.so therfore i cant rate how it is

This recorder has the ability to record premium movies from the hard drive
to blank DVDs. Some recorders do not allow this, because of copyright restrictions. (i.e. SCMS)The only problem sometimes is that it does not
always read all brands of blank DVDs.

Simple to use, excellent quality. Reputable name brand. Cost effective. Great value for the price. Works with external devices ie.. Camcorders. Transfer to video couldn't be easier.

Boy for the price couldn't beat this item. Works great, was just want needed to copy my DVD's. Easy to set up, and work.

Item works VERY well.......I needed another DVD recorder but didn't want to pay $100+. This was under $50, and I would reccommend this unit to anyone......

I've bought 2 of these on E-Bay, both were exactly as described by sellers. I bought them to transfer tapes to dvd. Neither has copied the first dvd. I've carefully followed the setup instructions. Both lockup and refuse to do anything, can't open the tray or turn off the power. If they weren't so slim, they would make good bookends, otherwise I don't know what to do with them.

I bought it for dvd recording. I like it because it is thin and cannot occupy much space.
The only problem I have with it is , I need the direction booklet to use it.

I bought this recorder to transfer family videos from MiniDV tapes to DVD, and i have to say that it works very well, best thing is that i have sent DVDs to eastern europe and it was redable on local dvd players.
Somtimes hapens that Record function Doesnt work ,then you have to reset- kill power to unit, ant after that it works fine. Basicaly I am satisfied with quality and price.

I bought this recorder as a "fix or repair" item on E-Bay! I worked on it for about one hour, and had it working like new! (not much to them on the inside, so not much to go wrong with them that is a easy fix or major replacement). I did not get a manual with this one, but it is vary easy to figure out how to use the recorder. The unit records perfect DVD's, and plays them just as good! The only thing that could make this unit better is if it had a region code of 0 (But that is just a personal preference of mine, not a defect in this unit). It looks good and works perfect, so I can't ask for anything more!
