Samsung DVD-HD841 DVD Player

I have owned this player for over a year an it is great. I have never had any problems with it and the 1080i output via DVI is spectacular. It has a multitude of outputs that allow it to connect to virtually any TV or home theater. It has DVI, component, S-video, and composite video outputs and coaxial and optical digital and 5.1 and stereo analog audio outputs. I bought this player primarily for its upconversion and region-free capabilities - it plays both PAL and NTSC discs perfectly.

Makes regular def look like high def. Simple to use. Fairly inexpensive for what you get. Samsung does make a great product. Would recommend it to others.

i bought this for my hd dlp samsung with dvi.it only plays half my dvds at best.the quality of the picture is barely even dvd quality at best!ive seen 80s vcrs that had equal looking quality in picture.how is this even close to digital quality.samsung products are generally very good values.not this model!
35mm is the format i want to use after seeing this "hd" in action!

This unit will play nearly anything perfectly, the only disc it doesn't play is HDCD music discs, but it does play SACD! This is the unit that Samsung was taken to court over because a very simple hack will remove the HDCP copyright protection and the upconverted 720p signal will be available from the component video output instead of just the DVI output. For some of the older high definition TV sets without a DVI input, and/or if your Home Theatre Reciever only has component inputs, this is the only way to get the high def DVD signal into the TV or reciever. Very thin and sleek looking with a single multi function button on the unit itself, the remote contains all the buttons for the various features of the deck as well as controls for your TV set. Jog shuttle allows single frame by frame viewing as well as 1/4 and 1/2 speed slow motion and fast forwarding up to 132X speed. Don't let the small size and single button look fool you, this is a powerhouse of a DVD player.

124x fast forward on a rocker wheel? Awesome. Frame by frame on a wheel? Amazing. Individual analog 5.1 RCA outputs? Incredible. Capability to disable HDCP authentication to use with my non-compliant HD display? The only real reason I bought it. Even used, it's a very high-quality product with tons of features.

I like it, because it is new product, and a half price compare it in the store.
it is prefect for my TV and stereo set. The seller got extra at home, and he just want to get rid off it. I got a good bargan.

I bought this particular DVD player because I'm putting together a surround sound system for our new flat screen TV and this DVD player has the Up-Converting option that takes the regular 480i quality of a DVD and up-converts it to 780i or even 1080i.....much higher clarity and resolution, and this DVD player accomplishes that for all my regular DVD's.

Unit was in great shape as advertised, shipped and received within three days of purchase. Great seller, wouldn't hestitate to buy from them again.
