This is the 6-series or 6th generation monitor that came out in spring of 2007.
I love the samsung line of monitors which seem to get better and better despite the fact they are now built in China compared to Korea 6 years ago. The low dpi made the text quality even better than previous generation with even brighter screen contrast. Excellent in full daylight.
I purchased it for office use in a fairly lit room with two windows that allow fair amount of sunlight. It does have a 2000:1 contrast ratio which was plenty for a 19' screen. The text were sharp which was the reason I purchased this over others. The price is very reasonable for what its worth. A decent build quality. Onscreen menu control is simple with just enough functions to set the video properties. I did however love the auto image adjust which from a push of a button allowed correction or horizontal and vertical sizing to fit the screen perfectly.
Very light weight and good ergonomics.
Video Gamers: With the 4ms I had no shutter or skips and played fairly smooth at highspeed actions
Plays Dvd in 16:9 format and again flawless in the video flow depart with the 4ms response time.
I give it a 9 out of 10 considering its price. Can't go with samsung!!!

i love this monitor for only being 19 inch but yet had great DPI and widescreen view it auto adjusts to your pc demands for maximum performance and the gloss trim around it gives it a sheek modern style

The picture quality is clear,colorful, and bright. The exterior is smooth and shiny giving it an added bonus of a good product. I have allways heard that Samsung is the best on the market and it's true (a picture is worth a thousand words). I'm really impressed with all the easy features, the screen, and the overall quality of the picture.

I upgraded from a 17in. Samsung monitor to this 19in. Samsung monitor. I like the size of this new monitor, but I am dissapointed with the picture quality. My old monitors picture quality was very clear, this one however seems a bit fuzzy, and I have tried adjusting the colors, but it has not improved. No other issues with this product.

I love the polished look of the monitor, it gives for a professional atmosphere. It was, also, incredibly easy to install. I hade a regular monitor before and was not sure if the different screen format, widescreen, would be easy to adjust, but it adjusts its-self. The picture is beautiful and I highly recommend this item.

This was a plug in and go item. I had to make NO adjustments. I put the instructions back in the original box and had not had to use them since.
Unit has a very narrow border around it, I can't use my post-its very
well. Other than that, fine item. Simplisity at its best.

The picture is very clear on this monitor, and the wide screen allows you to see more on webpages. It does take some adjusting to get the monitor to the correct resolution. This monitor was worth every penny! Samsung is one of the best brands in computer monitors as well. My brother, who is a computer techie, was very impressed with it and plans to get one soon for himself.

High contrast for some good editing and graphic design work, I always know I'm seeing more than any other screen or format will ever see. Lots of great controls, many that don't come standard even nowadays, such as one-touch presets that allow you to switch quickly to alternate color/luminance settings.

This monitor is professional grade equipment.
While the base is adjustable to viewing angle, the picture remains very crisp even at a considerable angle from "dead on."
Features and adjustments are abundant and easy to access.
Reasons for purchase:
This monitor offers the quality required for professional graphics editing and rendering. No flicker or jitter even for fast animations and no eye-strain.
Considerations:
While this monitor will work fine in analog mode, it will require a digital graphics card to take full advantage of it's features.

So far, I have purchased five of these 19" and two of the 22" monitors for my small business.
Image and video quality is superb, but I am most impressed with text quality. I do a lot of work with small text and numbers in spreadsheets. Other flat panels I own have left me longing for the days of crisp text on a CRT. But this Samsung out performs the best CRTs I ever owned.
Know that this monitor is just that, a computer monitor. You can't connect it to a DVD player or component video source. It has just two inputs, analog VGA (15 pin) or Digital DVI-D. So it is for computers only.
If that's what you need, you simply can find a better monitor for anything close to this price.

The SAMSUNG 906BW Rocks! A MUST HAVE!Review created: 10/16/09

PERFORMANCE, DESIGN, LOOKS, it has it all. If you have a PC w/ DVI-D output then you MUST get this monitor. Performance is flawless and it is very easy to use. It is totally plug-and-play even with Windows Vista and Vista Business. The 19" widescreen size is perfect for desktop home or business use. The screen is superb with crisp pixelation and absolutely no glare at all. The design is very sleek without obtrusive buttons, just a small On-OFF button, with a very modern, attractive frame. It is lightweight and has a sturdy and secure base that allows easy angling and repositioning. Very easy to change settings. Although the model has been out for a few years it is by no means dated. Has both DVI-D and VGA video input, but its beauty definitely lies in the digital performance. The only drawback I found was occasional reflection glare from the black frame but this is only a problem if a light is behind you in such a way that you get a reflection so a bit of repositioning solves this easily. Overall, the price is right ($50-100 on eBay or $120-140 elsewhere) and the performance makes it worth every penny and much more.

This monitor was OK, but it needed cleaning.
However, I bought a Dell computer at auction here, and had to pay to have the Hard Drive replaced and Windows Vista Installed. So that cost $337, and the computer cost $518...I actually LOST money on this deal and could have gotten it for LESS if I had bought it NEW!!!!
Very POOR Service on this, these computers are SUPPOSED to be tested before they send them out!!! I did not return it because of the trouble with boxing in and hauling it to UPS, I would have had to hire someone to do it as I am disabled and weak. I am very UNHAPPY with this purchase!!!

Samsung 906BW (Black) LCD MonitorI own a Samsung 22" I use for video work that is like this model. I have been happy with it and this look to not dissapoint either. Good contrast, bright colors. If you are doing photo/video work, I suggest you tune it as what you see out of the box is not necessarily what you get otherwise.

Samsung Syncmaster 906BW A+This is a really great monitor, shard picture quality and just overall a very high quality piece of technology. I think there may have been a slight problem with the referbishing of my specific monitor however. It gets a little out of wack every one in a blue moon but nothing to keep me from using it. Over all a really nice monitor.

Samsung 906BW (Black) LCD MonitorWas not sure about which monitor to get but after reading reviews and checking on some brands at bestbuy and circuit city I found the Samsung to be pretty good for the money. Sure there are better monitors out there but to spend another 100 - 150 dollars... this monitor has a great picture for movies and playing games. I bought another Samsung 22" cause of the good performance now happy with both.

Great product and customer serviceI actually own three of these. I got the first one and liked it so much I got two more for my other pc. There is a difference in display colors between digital and analog but that is expected. I can run Catia, do Graphic Design work, or play a video game with no issues with the image.
I had two dead pixels on one of the monitors I received and I contacted Samsung and their policy was seven dead for a return but because of the location they sent out a new monitor and covered the shipping. Excellent customer service for an excellent product that they stand behind.

I really like this monitor. It has some very nice features, my favorite being the "MagicBright" feature. The screen has incredible resolution as well as the fastest response time I saw in monitors of its class. I would recommend this monitor, especially to those buying on eBay from a good seller.
