Sam's Sandwich - A Big Hit with First Graders!

I first purchased "Sam's Sandwich," by David Pelham back in 1991. It was an immediate favorite in my first grade class. The children giggle and groan as the story unfolds with rhyme and pop-up bugs and insects. Compared to other pop-up books, this one is fantastic for its lay-out and prediction. Other pop-up books that I have used wear out and fall apart in time. Sam's Sandwich is constructed to handle the eagerness of little hands. This sandwich-shaped book with bright and colorful designs make it the most popular book on my classroom library shelf. I have raved about this book for years to many of my fellow teachers. Since Sam's Sandwich has been out of print for many years it has been impossible for them to find it in any regular book stores. Much to my delight, I found it offered at an ebay store, where I promptly bought 2 to give as gifts. I highly recommend this book for children 7 years and younger. David Pelham also wrote Sam's Snack and Sam's Pizza. they are out of print as well, so keep your eyes open for them and add them to your collection if you are lucky enough to find them.
