Same Dream [ECD] by Jon Secada (CD, Oct-2005, Big3 Records)

I love the way Jon Secada, who used to be a backup singer for Gloria Estefan, changes his direction with this new CD. It contains a subtle combination of high-energy dance, soulful melodies, pop potential chart-climbers and believe it or not, country!
I have been a Secada fan since 1999 even though some of his works precede that and I have to say he is one of my favorite solo artists; he has not "sold out" to the rap and hip-hop sounds like so many other contemporary artists have. He maintains his own sound and puts his own musical stamp on a couple of songs here that were recorded by really big names in the music industry. I was dubious at first as to whether this CD could live up to all of his other great contributions but after hearing the first couple of songs, I was hooked! So get ready to "Sing along with Secada!" And you might hit the dance floor too on a couple of these tunes. GREAT CD! I highly recommend it for pop-music fans who either know the works of Jon Secada or would like to discover his musical magic! A+ His Latin roots add the extra touch this CD needs to make it a real showstopper. You won't go wrong with this one. Believe me!
