Sailor Moon: Season One Uncut (DVD, 2003)

I Got this DVD for my daughter as she was a HUGE Sailor Moon fan back in the day. I asked her several times if this was the set she wanted and she assured me it was. Well when it came in she nearly died as the box didn't match to what she thought was offical and I had totally screwed up, after assuring her it was and asking her to take a look and give it a chance. About a week later she said she was wrong and it was fantastic and more of an adult & complete show than the Cartoon Network edited cut & paste show. A must buy for any Sailor Moon fan

If you're a Sailor Moon fan, this boxset is a must have for your anime collection! Being the first season, these DVD's introduce the Inner Senshi and has a lot of focus on the Silver Millennium. Most (if not all) of Sailor Moon's past is revealed, along with the reason why there are sailor senshi and what their purpose is besides fighting monsters and protecting Earth.

ADV Films did not remaster Sailor Moon, so this boxset is the same quality it was back when it aired in Japan for the first time. I hear a lot of complaints, but it's actually not that bad. You can get use to the video and sound quality within a couple of minutes.

The box is extremely strong compared to the most recent anime releases. It's a blue box with a silver Sailor Moon silohette on all three sides. ADV also puy the Japanese logo on the box, which makes it look very nice. The inside is just plain white.

These DVD's are not in singles, but come in two bricks (thick DVD cases, than hold more than one DVD). The covers of both are Sailor Moon.

Recently I bought the first season of Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon uncut dvd box set used. I didn't mind that someone else had a go at it already, because it was in great condition and the quality was perfect. (It even played on my pc so I can make anime music videos with it!) It had scenes and even entire episode that DiC had cut when they dubbed it years ago and it thrilled me to finnaly watch the episode where Nephrite dies - not that I don't like the character, I just always missed it when it aired on TV! Only down side is, I can't listen to it in english, but that could also be considered a blessing if you recall the voice acting and corny jokes.

Its sturdy and beautiful box set and it makes an excellent addition to my Pretty Soldier collection.

The Box Set is very nice. It even comes with a little episode summary guide book.

The set comes with 2 boxes..each with 4 discs (for a total of 8).

The quality is fantastic, the subs are good, and the audio is as good as you are going to get for an older cartoon.

It has the commercial eyecatches, intro, and outro for each episode which is great. Even has the preview at the start of each episode as well...everything is just perfect.

It is rare, which justifies the price. If you are a big fan of the japanese version of sailor moon, then this is a must have :D

Before I could even think I had won, I had it at my door! I expected at least the end of the week! It is in almost mint condition with tiny scratchs that even a warehouse would do in shipping. So great!!

Always a HUGE Sailor Moon fan, but always too poor to buy the ADV Box Set when it was in stores.

Just remember, now that the boxed set is out of print, if you find the complete season for super cheap, you're almost definitely getting a bootleg.

And there is no such thing as "Uncut English Dubbed" of the older episodes.

but, if you love Sailor Moon and you're not a collector, none of that really matters. Just enjoy Usagi and her miscellaneous antics.

Sailor Moon has everything anime should have. Action, adventure, girls in small clothing. Its perfect. Sure, it has love, drama, and alot of the more female things, but guys can like that stuff too. Or they can ignore it and enjoy the beauty that is Sailor Moon. Yes, the beginning of the series is repetitive and sure it takes awhile before it really starts picking up, but when you have all the five Sailor Senshi, you're set. GREAT overall, I truly recommend it for those who love anime and love pretty soldiers.

I like that it arrived in a timely matter and the dvd was in good quality. I really enjoyed the dvd and I hope that I can get more from this seller in the future.

I love the extra episodes in this version. The music is so different too! As well as the episodes! It's almost like watching a new series! I think this season is well worth the money and will keep you entertained.

Also at the end of each episode there is a song and everyother episode switches between japanese titles and english subtitles, which is kinda fun too.

The inserts are really cute too. The only thing thats no fun is that there are no bonus features.

Overall, I highly recommend this dvd set.

It was great! But when I bought it I thought that it was going to have english and japanese, it only had Japanese. Other than that it was in great shape and all the disks worked. I love the first season of Sailor Moon and this had episodes that I has never seen before, because they were never dubbed!!! A must for any Sailor Moon fan!!!!

The series is awesome! The only thing that makes it good instead of excellent is that the discs were scratched.
