It's no secret that Sailor Moon set the standard for magical girl anime series and remains one of the most beloved anime of all time, both in Japan as well as internationally.
The S season is considered by many fans as the best season of the Sailor Moon for it's story, animation, and character design, but also because it introduces the outer senshi- Sailors Uranus, Neptune, and Saturn as well as the return of Sailor Pluto, who finally gets some significant character development.
The S season also really digs into the history and fate of all the sailors, making this a must- have for any true Sailor Moon fan.
I made the mistake of letting my copies of this season walk once and I am painstakingly trying to replace them as they are not cheap due to the dvds are now out of print and most of Sailor Moon is no longer licensed in North America. My only wish is that they would have remastered the dvds as in some scenes you can clearly see grit from the animation cels, but I am happy with what I have as the S season also is my favorite of the Sailor Moon seasons and I want to retain the licensed dvd copies before they disappear forever because as with many anime fans of my generation, Sailor Moon is one we will always hold dear in our hearts.
