Not a great example of human sexuality

This is not a movie which shows off human sexuality in a way that youd want to encourage. Sarah Miles is pent up and rather seeming like a witch to her son in her vents which dont appear to have as much sincere concern and caring as they do venom and pent up generalized hatred of her world. On the other hand the nudity in this movie draws a great deal of interest based on that fact alone and along with Kris Kristofferson, the duo made quite a spread in Playboy Magazine back then showing off their accomplishments. I think the movie is worth seeing as a piece of intelligent commentary on a way of being and a mindset whose days are at an end in our midst I suspect given the onslaught of humanistic thinking in popular culture.

I bought this movie because I like Kris Kristofferson. it is a movie you do not want to watch with young children.

I haven't seen it recently, but I really like the complexity of the movie.. the emotions and the onscreen chemistry between Sarah and Kris. There is a definite twist at the end that I didn't see coming. Worth a view for sure.

Very sensual overtones - quirky ending
Review created: 02/04/09

I loved this movie when it came out but I'm a card carrying Kris Kristofferson junkie. Definitely not a movie for kids to watch....until they're probably 18....lol. It is a very sensual movie but the story is a good one too. Lots of layers. A tragic representation of self-involved parents. Kris is great as a sailor wanting more than a lonely life at sea. Sarah's dressing table scene inspired the decorating of my own antique dressing table. I've never forgotten that scene. Well, there are several totally unforgettable scenes in the movie.
