Originally issued in 1990, Saddle the Wind was among John Berry's final independent releases before his leap to major label Liberty. Although his skills as a songwriter had yet to reach the level of his later work, originals like "That Woman," "Here in My Heart," and "Is It Too Late" all show considerable promise, while covers of classics like "When a Man Loves a Woman" and Bruce Springsteen's "Thunder Road" spotlight his prowess as a vocalist. ~ Jason Ankeny
