When I watched "Lady In Waiting", I went through so many emotions! It was informative, but then I found myself sad when I saw what has happened to this great ship. Lastly, I found myself smiling at the thought of her promising future. Having the wonderful experience of sailing on the SS United States in both 1956 and again in 1960, I am proud to have been a part of her great history! I would highly recommend this DVD to anyone interested in knowing the history of the SSUS! Thank you!

) I loved this dvd - a wonderful story about this ship that still sits in Philadelphia waiting to see what happens to her. I sailed on her from Germany to N.Y. in 1961, so I have alot of interest. Bravo whoever made this documentary. Alot of famous people travelled on her and I learned so much from watching this several times.

Lady in Waiting is right !!!
) This is a long awaited video about one of the grandest ships of her era, still holding the title of the fastest ocean liner. The SS United States could do 20 knots in reverse, and she was a work of maritime art, now fallen into hard times and disrepair, as she clings to life at her mooring in Philadelphia, slowly rusting away.
I saw this ship in 1952 in New York City and was so overwhelmed by the spectacle of it that I became a life-long fan, and I comb through eBay listings looking for artifacts and items of interest about this great ship. This video is well worth the price for anyone who would like to see the SS United States in motion.

Lady in waiting was bought outright on e-bay from Video Barn/redline Distribution CTR. back in dec.02, 2008. sent out money order to Canada for the item,received confirmation of receiving money order,Dec. 13 th received e-mail that even though item is being processed they currently have none in stock and the item is on backorder, blaming E-Bay for not offering real time inventory synchronization, resulting in inventory update lag.....Now they said expect delay of approx. 3-15 days and if I decide not to wait that long for me to reply to their E-Mail. As far as I always new that any item that is posted for aution is readily available upon end of sale on E-Bay, It seems someone dropped the ball and passed it on. I just received the DVD a month later from a local distribution center 900 N. Rohlwing Rd. Itasca IL. 60143 This came as a real surprize to me. I wonder how many others have had this same experience with this company ?
