Very similar to socom 3. Have made suttle changes to make game play more fluid and realistic. Graphics are about the same. Large increase in weapons and extras, along with the usuals. Offers many more multiplayer maps along with old ones. The main new feature with this Socom is that you are able to play with 4 people through the entire single player missions over the internet.

Buy this game if you enjoyed the previous Socom games and are into stealthy realistic shooting games and also enjoy online multiplayer games.

Pass if you are a shoot-em-up lover.

I could play this game for days! The online co-op and just the regular online are amazing. You can play with 32 people, or 4 people in co-op. Co-op is very fun, going through levels with your friends, or people you dont even know!

  Not good online.

This game is nothing special. If you want an online war shooter, play Battlefield 2. This one is squad based, and they kick you out easily. Ie. they can decide they only want their friends in the match, etc.. not really fair, makes it childish. Whereas the voting system to kick people on Battlefield 2 is much better. This game is more serious, than fun action. ie. Getting along well with others, talking, using tactics. I guess you have to be a serious gamer. It's not like you can get up and leave to go get a drink out of the fridge. No freedom at all.

Like: Missions, Weapons, objectives, sound effects, tactics. This game has a large variety Of weapons and tactics, you can also modify the weapons and add different accessories and attachments to it. The maps are amazing and realistic and the sound effects are great.
Ive played every socom and so far this one is my favorite for offline play (Campaign mode).

Dislike: During online play there is sometimes problems with the connection "lagging"

Thank you for taking the time to read this and
I hope this review was helpful in your decision making.

I loved all the Socom games, and this one is no exception. I think the commands could have been a little better. But other then that. Great game, and I've spent alot of hours playing it. I highly recommend it if you love 3rd person action shooters.

SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Combined Assault Review

There have been games aplenty on the Xbox where the online multiplayer mode was like the icing on a sweet pastry while the PS2 was slightly left behind in that department. Then again, Sony and Zipper Interactive’s SOCOM series proved that the console is more than capable of giving shooting fans something to sink their teeth into and thoroughly enjoy. The franchise reached new heights with SOCOM 3, a game that brought us more of what we love about the series so you can only imagine our delight at the prospect of a fourth game in the series. SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Combined Assault might not be a dramatically different game for the series but the few improvements and great multiplayer experience make this a SOCOM game you should not miss.

Combined Assault has a surprisingly inventive connection to the PSP’s SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2 that goes beyond its neat Crosstalk feature (more on that a bit later). For starters, both games share the same locale during the single-player campaign mode and the stories for both games interconnect with each other. In several missions, you’ll find that Fireteam Bravo cleared an area for you or are waiting for you to tackle on a particularly well guarded area before they can attempt a rescue mission seen on the PSP. Combined Assault begins with a failed rescue mission in the fictional country of Adjikistan as a SEAL team is attempting to escape with a valuable CIA operative. Unfortunately, “the package” never makes it so you are tasked with heading into enemy territory to recover him as well as discovering the secrets he has discovered.

The single-player campaign mode doesn’t force you to take on the missions in a linear fashion but rather you have the freedom to pick the mission you would like to take on with your team. After the first introductory mission, you are given a choice of related missions. The best part is that these missions are actually lengthy but most important, they are also really fun. Part of the reason the campaign missions are so enjoyable is the fact that the mission objectives have you performing a number of fun tasks that have you doing everything from taking out watchtower guards to securing prisoners in an abandoned gulag. The environments are also large; giving gamers the feeling of total freedom to approach each objective anyway they wish. Why infiltrate an enemy camp through the road used most by the enemy when you can enter the camp through a hidden path to the south?

Vehicles are back and this time they’re classified by slow and heavily armored (Armor), light and agile (Recon) or just fast (Support). You’ll take command of Humvees as well as boats and once again the vehicle controls work perfectly. Speaking of controls, the shooting and strafing moves are solid and you can issue orders on the fly. There are also more weapons and you can even unlock a few more that just plain rock whether you’re using them in the single-player campaign or in the game’s multiplayer mode. This is the beauty of Crosstalk, a feature that comes from your PS2 interacting with your PSP via a copy of Fireteam Bravo 2. It’s good to see a feature that has a handheld interacting with the console in ways that has you downloading a good deal of extras.

5 OUT OF 5 A MUST HAVE TITLE!

  Best Socom Game
Review created: 12/04/06

i've always liked the socom games but some things i wanted to see in the games were missing. Combined assault has it i love the drivable vehicles it really adds realism to the game. you also have medkits to heal yourself in the game which is very nice. the best part about the medkits is if a teamate goes down you can revive him withen a limited amount of time really cool. the only downside is all of the missions yake place in one country and its a made up country. all in all the best socom game i've played.

  Socom is the best
Review created: 05/28/07

This is Zipper Interactive's sequel release after Socom 3. Combined Assault has a few changes. They took out the blood and replaced it with white smoke powder when you shoot at someone and they've redesigned all the old maps to be glitchproof except for the softspots, you can never get rid of the softspots. Another thing is they've added about 5 different new maps. I love this game, It probably is the best online game for ps2 right now. My most major problem would be that the Socom servers are sometimes messed up with server errors and disconnects in the middle of your game. But they've minimized it now I've noticed and doesn't happen too often now. All in all its a great game. Get it!

  Meeting the Standard

What all other Socom version previously lacked this supplies. The monster of combining all the elements simulating combat. This game does a great job, and also has a "feel" to it that is more intact than the very simular previous version of socom 3. It feels like combat more, and the medikit is a nice addition to make you remember it is only a video game. Much more fun to forget the medikit though since in real life, if you get shot, then there is no short-term remedy for it. I highly recommend this above any other squad based shooter out there. Unless you are "buds" material, then join the real Seal Team, oh, and don't ring the bell no matter what...(only a few will understand that statement).

Horrible Servers when your online and Lagging even when you play by yourself!-In The Single Player when your Offline-That doesn't make any since! Sony!-And The Terrorists are way to smart now!-Whats the deal with that Phony Entertainment Of America! And its useless to even beg them to fix the issues Plaguing the game! The game is only fun playing with help but the lagging is just making it worse by adding Socom 3 Servers with The Socom Combined Assult Servers-Stupid Sony Very Stupid!-And there Webmaster is a loser for not caring what the real players want! A Much needed fixed rushed game!--So I give this game a C- Because you can tell right away that this game was rushed! And it sucks theres no Blood! Like I Said before Unrealistic Piece of Junk!-Made by Dumbasses in California!-Hey SCEA Why don't you go to a Real Seal BootCamp and Learn something New And real instead of Unrealistic crap!-Socom 3 was great along with SC1-2-But this Game is A Joke..I could also say a game only for stupid whining kids who should be in bed Do you think I was allowed to stay up that late?.-Heck no! kids playing from 5-PM to 9:00 Am-Is Ridiculous-Parents its your responsibillty To Say No! when you have no control over your kids!-Do Us All A Favor And Read The ESRB!-

Get one for FREE!!! Have a look at this video first:

Just take 2 minutes and read this. This is very EASY to do! It literally
takes 10 minutes to setup. Simply follow the steps below. I promise you,
this is 100% real. I will answer you on any question! Here is what you
do. Click on the link below, register, pick an account type (referral is
the easiest) and complete just 1 offer (Very important that you complete
the 1 offer otherwise your account will sit in limbo until you do). This
is not like other sites where you need to complete one offer on 2 or 3
different pages!!! And a lot of these offers are FREE trials with
nothing else to buy...No commitments!!!

There are plenty of cool offers to choose from such as Blockbuster
online, Stamp.com, Netflix, Gamefly which are services you would
regularly sign up for anyways and their all secure networks, why not use
them to get a free PS3 System or cash (I did the Stamps.com for a 30 day
free trial and it never cost me a penny and I received credit for it the
same day). Look at the offers and choose the one that works for you.
After signing up and completing your one offer, simply refer 8-13 people
(depending on the FREE prize you choose) to do the same under your link
(just post the same thing as I have on eBay, and you'll get your
referrals before the auction even ends.)

Then they will ship your PS3 System or your selected item for free, I
chose the PS3 80gb System. No Joke, 100% REAL!!! The reason these
companies make money, is because most people don't bother getting all
the referrals. All you have to do is post it ! They use us as
advertisement by word of mouth which saves them tons of money which goes
toward yours and my free gift. These are legit companies such as
Blockbuster, Netflix, Gamefly etc... You can copy my listing if you
want. You must use your own authentic link though. You will get your own
personal link after your orders placed.

Step 1: Click this link http:
http://www.YourPS34free.com/index.php?ref=5452229

Step 2: Sign up and chose an account type (Referral is the easiest and
best).

Step 3: Complete just 1 offer (like Blockbuster or Stamps.com) and refer
up to 13 people to do the same (use eBay! Do what I did, copy my ad).

Step 4: Receive your PS3 System for FREE!!!!!!!!!! (Even The Shipping Is
Free!!!)

For proof that this is for real, click on the link below. It's the
company that is behind everything.

If you have any questions feel free to message me!! I'll Respond ASAP.
If you want hints/tips about the whole process, I'd be happy to fill you
in.
