socom 3 is a good game they had the right idea with the cars and the customizeable guns and so on but the weight thing was stupid ruined the fun in carrying the really good deadly weapons and still having a backup also the levels are good i love the big levels but sometimes they are just to big and there not enough spawn points for the action to be close to you all the time sometimes u spend half the game running to where everyone is what they needed to do is make more little levels like fault or crucible or like frostfire or vigilance in socom 2 then it would have been amazing

Socom 3 is a PS2 fans dream.The PS2 has few great online games but this one makes up for it with great control and many players online to kill.The graphics are better then the first two Socom games.I would buy this one for the long one player game or for the endless online fun.

I own Socom 2 and found that I was soon addicted. I didn't think it could get better than that but soon I found out Socom 3 was hitting the market. With the playing maps 6 to 10 times bigger than than Socom 2, I knew I just had to have it. The day it came out I rushed to the store. Once home, the loading of the game was a breeze. New weapons, vehicles you could actually drive, more players, bigger maps... This was hard to put down. The only thing I really didn't care for is the request for a credit card in order to create your profile and such. I bet this is to put you on a mailing list or something like it but no matter for the reason, it was a downer in my opinion. The action is great and with more players on the field now, you have many opportunities to take people out. Two thumbs up and a must have for any Playstation collector.

a lot better than the first 2 games. the online play in socom 3 is probably the best out there for a ps2 squad based shooter. if you dont have online play, i would avoid it though. the single player campaign is entertaining, but it doesn't quite live up to the multiplayer aspect.

- In single player, teammates can be equipped with rocket launchers and actually use them without being ordered to.
- u can order your teammates to mount vehicles and turrets.
- more realistic (Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing)
- 32 players online
- u can use vehicles online
- everything bad about SOCOM and SOCOM II is gone.
- cool weapon configurations
cons
- Player is slower to control
- talking is complicated online..
- everything that you liked about SOCOM and SOCOM II may be gone
- No old online maps in S3

I enjoyed playing the previous socoms but this has both of them beat. It has excelent new missions and with the introduction of vehicles that you can drive around it adds a whole new dimention to the game. I would recommend this game to anyone that enjoyed the previous two or for anyone that has not played the game.

Well what can is say about this game? How about it is the BEST. I only play online but i have not found a better game on the market yet. From customizable weapons to choosing different characters. The even have another map pack you can purhase for i think 4.99.

This has to be my favorite game. I absolutely love it. It is not like alot of other games where you can just beat the whole game in an hour, I mean what a waste of $50, but Socom is difficult to beat. It is so much more realistic than other games ou there. There is no health to pick up, or ammunition to grab, Seriously people Navy Seals don't get shot then pick up health kits and go on there merry way. The selection of weapons is great, and the graphics are great. There are a few flaws however. One is how your team sucks, they fire a at enemies, but never aim for the head, thay just shoot and attract attention to you, when you are trying to remian stealthy. The A.I. isnt that great and someimes your fellow SEALS can be found running into doors and corners and you have to back track to get them out. If you like games where you just run around and shoot stuff this game is not for you. SOCOM requires patience and stealth. But overall this Game is awesome. Definately BUY THIS Game!!!

SOCOM 3 Online is like golf; it's frustrating as he## to good at, but when you finally have a good round you end up being hooked for life (that's why it's also called "SO-CRACK"). If you can put in the time and effort to get good, as well as find some friends who work as a team so you ALL win, it's great. I've played KILLZONE, Delta Force: Black Hawk Down and Battlefield 2: Modern Combat all online (single player on all these games is just a warm up for fragging people online), and SOCOM is by far the deepest and most entertaining one of them all. SOCOM single player is okay, and it's worth beating to get all the characters, weapons and especially the ghillie suits, but again, online is what it's all about. Get SOCOM 3 (&1&2)a network adaptor for your PS2, a headset (a must have) and a fast internet provider and GET ONLINE NOW! You won't regret it! Look me up, my SOCOM name is GUTTER-BOY. 50,000+ people playing online on a Saturday night can't be wrong.

Realistic combat strategy. Very precious in order to accomplish the mission. Great organization skill to achieve high level. I you like challenge. You will love it. Once you hook, it's hard to leave the game!

I Love it!!! great graphics... awesome game!!! but the only thing that gets me is the retarded AI... i mean its not stupid.. it will just run into walls every now and then... or get shot. But besides that, Its the bomb!!!

Real time strategy games are a favorite around our house. SOCOM series of battle and/or mission simulators are no exception! SOCOM 3 is the third installment in the SOCOM series with all the improvements to date! If military missions is your thing then you've found some great gaming fun with this one! And of course there is upgrades to be won! We collect Playstation games, so of course this was another purchase for that as well! PS2 still rocks at our house and will for years to come!

Only one word to describe this game...... WOW!
Once you start playing this PS2 game, you will not be able to put it down. The graphics are amazing, the playing field is superb, especially if you have a large screen TV. The only setback is that it put a strain on your hand controller. Mine is almost out of whack!

Cons: Controls are kinda hard with changing weapons and throwing grenades but other than that controls are good.
Recomendations: I definatly recomend this title to anyone who owns a PS2.
Notes: If you are trying to go online for the first time you will need to download the Socom 3 update, if it has an error the first time just try to download it again and overight the old download thats what worked for me.
You will need space on your PS2 memory card for the update and Socom 3 online configuration.
