Product Description
SMC's EZ Hub 100 offers easy access to a Fast Ethernet network at a very affordable price. Just plug it in and it's ready to go to work for you. With its eight 100BASE-TX ports, this hub is an ideal device for integrating Fast Ethernet into a 10 Mbps Ethernet legacy LAN. When connected to a switch the hub will provide 100 Mbps for power users and servers. It's the perfect complement to SMC's EtherPower 10/100 Fast Ethernet PCI network cards. And, it uses the same 2 pairs of Category 5 cable often used for 10 Mbps Ethernet networks, wired in exactly the same manner, so you can leave your cabling plant intact. The hub can be used standalone for a small workgroup. As your workgroup grows, a pair of these hubs can be cascaded to accommodate additional users. For larger networks and increased bandwidth, individual servers, server farms and power workgroups can be interconnected through a Fast Ethernet switch, such as SMC's TigerSwitch 100. This switch provides a dedicated 100 Mbps of bandwidth per port. The EZ Hub 100 provides support for an optional Redundant Power Unit (RPU). This hub comes with 5 PCI Ethernet cards.
