SINGER® 7470 Computerized Sewing Machine

This is an easy machine for my 7 year old granddaughter to use. She is taking lessons and this is the machine used in her class. She is such a sewing enthusiast and this was sold at such a reasonable price, how could I resist but to purchase for home use? The simplicity of use and "needle down" option are most helpful for her. I'm sure in time, she'll be out sewing me. The variety and quantity of available stitches was also desirable.

I also thought I'd purchase this machine as a "back up" to my personal machine. My granddaughter and I both know... this is hers. She loves it!

The Singer 7470 Sewing Machine is a very good machine. I actually purchased it because of the automatic tension. I have never had a machine that I could get the sewing machine tension set right. This machine has automatic spot on the dial and it works so far for me. I am very pleased with that feature.
The machine also has all the different stitches that I like to have on a machine.
I am a quilter and I think this machine stands up to my more expensive machines that I do not plan on using anymore since I bought this one.
I would recommend this machine to anyone. They say it is good for beginners but I think it is a machine for just about anyone.

I have owned several sewing machines in my lifetime, including another computerized model but this is the best I have used. It is the smoothest sewing of any that I have used including more expensive machines. The only disadvantage I have found is that the foot pedal sometimes does not immediately engage when pushed but this is only a minor thing.

I was going to buy a Husquavarna (very pricy) but when I read about this Singer machine and all the things it did for the price I decide to try it and I am so pleased. It does everything I hoped and more. The price was right for me - I loved the ease of ordering and received it very fast. I am very happy with this purchse.

I bought this for my wife after she saw it on MARTHA. I can't say enough good things about it. It works flawlessly. No foot changes are needed even for thick and multiple layer fabrics. The controls are easy to understand even without reading the directions. I would recommend this machine for anyone from a novice to a pro.

I love everything about this machine!! I knew I would because it is a Singer and a good machine for the money. The MONEY is the reason I bought it. I shopped everywhere for this machine and even with the SHIPPING charges added on, I still saved A LOT of money! I couldn't believe the price! I couldn't hit the buy it now button fast enough! I had enough money left over to get a dress form!

Great machine for the $$$. Very easy to thread, easy manual to understand, runs smooth, sews heavy fabrics with ease. Many, many different stitches available especially is you sew a lot. You won't be sorry you bought this machine.

What I like most about the Singer Confindence 7470 is that it has so many special features to make sewing easy. I haven't sewn in a while so this machine made getting back into the groove simpler. The seller was very efficient in processing the transaction and shipping the machine. However, when the machine arrived it did not look exactly like the picture in the advertisement. Instead of the Confidence 7470, I received the Companion 7470. I don't knkow what the difference is but I was too anxious to use the machine. So, I din't return it. Overall, its a good machine. I purchased it to start making a new wardrobe for my kids and me and besides not having enough time to sew, I am doing pretty good.

What can I say, Fast delivery - Great price - Excellent communications, they are all true of this vendor and my transaction with them. Highly recommended, especially if you are an "anal retentive" purchaser like I am. They are top notch in all the areas I evaluate for future purchase decisions.

I needed to replace the sewing machine that my mother had bought in the 60's. Except for many of the parts being made of plastic, this is a great machine. It is easier to thread, lighter in weight, has many more features than my older one. It sews through many layers of denim easily. I haven't had the time to play with all the fancy stitches yet but can't wait! I love being able to see how full the bobbin is.
I wish the instruction book was separated into English and then the other languages. Needs a carrying case cover. Otherwise, I have enjoyed it so far.

I really like this machine. It took awhile to figure out the needle threading and it was only marginal on buttonholes with thick fleece material. Otherwise it works fine and is fun to sew with.

I bought this machine at Joann's when it was on sale for $399. I had it for a week. During the week, the machine had a lot of issues. It ran really rough. I sew a lot of flannel and velcro, and it made a loud "clunking" sound when sewing through the velcro. It also bunched up a lot under the bobbin causing a "nest" of thread under my fabric. The thread kept breaking, it was just a very lightweight and cheaply made machine.

I especially wouldn't recommend sewing heavy fabric with it, I sewed denim once and it stopped and beeped at me and wouldn't sew so I had to change fabrics. If you're a light sewer (like you only sew a couple times a month) this machine "might" work for you. But if you sew a lot like I do, this machine will NOT hold up.

After having all these issues for a week, on the 7th day it finally just DIED. I went to start sewing with it, the needle went down once, and then beeped and wouldn't work. I tried EVERYTHING. I even called the 800# that Singer provided with the machine and every time I called, I got a busy signal! Needless to say, it was brought immediately back to Joann's store and I got my money back. I paid $399 as it was on sale that week, but I wouldn't buy another one if they had a $50 clearance sale on it.

I bought this machine as an upgrade to my 10-year-old Singer basic model. What a difference! It is super easy to use and has a ton of stitches available. I love that it has the alphabet stitches, too. I just used it to sew my daughter's Halloween costume and it worked like a charm. The reverse button is in a better place than my old machine, and it sews very smooth. Perfect machine - no cons for me on this one! Very highly recommended!

I haven't used a sewing machine since 8th grade....17 years ago!!! I wanted a machine that I would be able to sit down and use, but that would also allow me to be easily creative. This machine does ALL that and SO MUCH MORE!!! The price was INCREDIBLE. I've been shopping for this type of machine for about 2 years and not found such a great deal, not even on the CHEAP brands, much less a SINGER!!! I am sooo pleased with this machine. My daughter loves her shorts and things that I've used this machine to "decorate." I am now teaching my nearly 13 yr. old to sew with it. She's so lucky to get to learn on such a fabulous machine! This is TOP OF THE LINE!

My old sewing machine was not computerized and I was concerned this new one would be too complicated and would cause delays in my sewing just trying to figure it out. BUT this sewing machine is very user friendly and has a lot of stitches to choose from. I am VERY happy with this sewing machine.

This machine is very easy to use; especially being a beginner like myself. The LCD screen allows one touch stitch selection, including decorative stitch and letters. The machine is very easy to thread as is the bobbin. I am very satisfied with this machine!

This model 7470 by Singer is highly sought after and I can see why. I call it sewing with ease!
My old model could never keep the tension accurate and steady. This model keeps tension and the presser foot keeps the exact amount of pressure.
The push button stitch select is just phenomenal. And, the instruction booklet is so easy to follow, I have not had any trouble attempting a variety of stitches. It allows me to experiment and do very professional sewing.

I am a guy, who has never sewn a thing before. I took the machine out of the box. Spent 15 minutes reading the manual. Then successfully sewed several items including using the machine to sew on buttons. I have no prior experience, so I cannot compare this machine to others, but my lady friends told me that I had done things that never had done on other machines! I would HIGHLY recommend this machine to anyone.

The speed on this machine is also very easy to regulate, you can sew at a snails pace for intricate sewing or zip right up a straight line. You also can push a botton to have the needle stop up or down. I absolutley love this Singer machine. I don't have any negative comments about this machine at this time.

wonderful machine! Compuerized system is amazing. No problems to date. Easy to thread by hand. Could not figure out self-threading.

It took a little time to receive my sewing machine but when it arrived I just love it. It is just what I was looking for. The condition was excellent and I will use this seller again if the occasion should ever arise.
