I remember when I got this game, I knew nothing about cars, but still enjoyed sliding around corners. This game encorporated a different type of race, one that was sheltered from video games for quite some time until rally racing became a sport instead of a hobby. The ability to customer the handling of the vehicle was a great aspect, appealing ot your driving style and adding that much more complexity to it, changing the feel for each person. AI in this game was fairly simple to beat, but still a challenge otherwise.

Given that I'm not much of a fan of racing games in the least, it often raises a few eyebrows when I mention that not only do I own this game, but rate it so highly. The only reason I actually bought it was due to the fact I only had two Saturn games at the time, Euro 96 and FIFA: Road to World Cup 98, and was just going to buy up any Saturn titles I saw, and Sega Rally was sitting for 2.99, and I figured it would at least be a fun distraction. It turned out to be a lot more than that in terms of enjoyment. I actually believed the game to be by Sega's AM2 division, makers of Daytona USA and...
