Russian Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards by Svetlana Alexandrovna Touchkoff (1991, Hardcover)

A friend gave me a reading and I liked the look and approach of the cards so much I ordered my own. They are beautiful and completely different - not Tarot-like. Each card is divided into quarters and you see which ones complete a picture when they are all laid out, like a puzzle. The reading was detailed, not all rosy like some strictly feel-good cards are - these are fortune-telling cards! Anyway with a Russian background myself I couldn't resist. I highly recommend these. A friend of mine also owns these fab. cards.We both fell in love with them right away.We've tried many different styles of fortune telling cards and these by far are our favorite.Its a fun style of putting the reading together.Like a puzzle.(As said)You can read with a partner or do the reading alone.Amazingly enough the readings my friend has done on numerous people have been very accurate. It's a purchase you wouldnt be disappionted in.In addition the cards are beautiful works of art.

I own many tarot decks, but this is something completely different. It is interesting, exotic, and easy to use. I did a very accurate reading for my son within moments of opening the package. The cards could be a bit more durable, but covering the edges with clear tape or contac paper will take care of that. The book is easy to use as well. I think that with practice, a reader could memorize the meanings and positions of the pictures quite easily, so that the book would become unnecessary. It doesn't really matter if the history of the cards is true; they're fun to use! I'm glad I took a chance on the purchase of a used item.

I am of Russian heritage and I have found these cards to be most helpful and accurate for me. I have been able to be more clear and aware of many things that are laid out and simply put! As a child I was known as a "Little Gypsy" and I absolutly LOVE these cards!!!! These cards are beautiful and wonderfully done and I am proud to own them. Thank you Svetlana. The Russian Gypsy deck is a unique tool among my many tarot decks. I bought it after seeing a reader using it at a psychic fair. The book offers interpretations that sometimes are and sometimes are not intuitively associated with the images on the cards. It will take practice to master this deck, especially for those used to using traditional tarot decks; however, there is the opportunity to interpret the results of a spread in your own way rather than using the book. The accuracy of these cards is sometimes right on and sometimes not, hence the need to determine for yourself how the images are to be interpreted.

I happily recommend this deck-and-book set to anyone who is looking for a system which is more geared towards answering specific questions and giving predictive readings. It is excellent for beginners and no previous experience is necessary. Collectors will love the art on these cards, which is in the fashion of antique Russian lacquered boxes and furniture. Wonderful colors and quaint images make this deck-and-book set highly attractive and appealing.

I bought this book for my teen daughter, who has some interest in Russian culture. She really loved the cards. I would buy from the same seller again.
