Bond goes Blu-Ray; Does it do it justice?

The answer is a resounding "YES". The back of the packaging didn't lie when it said Blu-Ray was made for Bond. Not only did they remaster it, but they actually modernized it in the process. It looks almost like a modernly shot movie with 60's clothing and culture as the arrangement. Very well done.
One noticeable flaw is that the audio is not up to Blu-Ray-quality snuff. I had read online that the audio was not very good when they shot it, so there wasn't much they could do, so don't expect it to sound brilliant coming through your hi-def TV, let alone your 7.1 DTS surround sound system. You can hear it, that's really all that matters, but it just sounds aged.
As for the movie itself, I'm 20 years old. Sean Connery as Bond is far behind my time, so I'm accustomed to Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig being Bond. I can say that Connery does much better than Brosnan, who always seemed a little emotionless as Bond, but I still believe Craig is the best, simply because he's the most human of them all, as well as the most ruthless. Connery is a great Bond though; he's funny, suave, stylish, and he gets the job done. The plot is ood but nothing overly spectacular. Daniela Bianchi is one of the most gorgeous Bond girls I've seen, and her part is well played.
It has Special Features, but I never really pay them much attention. I do know they are there. Basically, what it comes down to is if you have a Blu-Ray player or PlayStation 3 (I use a PS3 on a 26" Sony Bravia 1080i LCD TV) and loved or are curious about From Russia With Love, give it a go. It's got one of the best plots I've seen from a 007 movie, and it looks fantastic on Blu-Ray. If you don't have Blu-Ray or a PS3, obviously, you can't but this, but it is available as an Ultimate Edition on DVD, so don't fret. I bought this off of eBay for under $13, so getting it on Blu-Ray is more that affordable, and on DVD is probably even cheaper. If you're not into Connery as Bond, don't bother, but 007 purists and those looking to explore the capabilities of their Blu-Ray player should give this a shot. It looks fantastic.
