Rush Hour (DVD, 1999, Platinum Series)

This was a great pairing.... that of Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker!

I have seen Jackie a few times at conventions and he is as nice in person as he appears on the screen! My wife and I both love his movies!!

This was so good of a pairing, I figured that would do so again, as not all of Jackie's latest movies have made it big in the States!

Worth watching and also buying for your Jackie Chan Film Library !!

In a (very) unlikely buddy pairing, Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan start off this soon-to-be-trilogy very funny and left me wanting more of the same. It excelled at the type of movie it was trying to be. 4 out of 5.

i really like this movie because it is very funny and i think this is the better rush hour too. and it has more action pack fun and the intro between carter and lee is one of the best sence in the movie.in the firstr rush hour there is more joke and more fighting i think......but i have watch this movie over 30 time and im serious i can almost remember the whole movie down to the last line...lol..

The first Rush Hour movie was very entertaining and funny. LOTS of laughs. And even more action. Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan were amazing togather, they has a lot of chemistry in this film. Most likely you'll have fun watching this movie.

Excellent Movie watching Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker team up together made me want to buy the second one which is better than the first one.

The plotline may sound familiar: Two mismatched cops are assigned as reluctant partners to solve a crime. Culturally they are complete opposites, and they quickly realize they can't stand each other. One (Jackie Chan) believes in doing things by the book. He is a man with integrity and nerves of steel. The other (Chris Tucker) is an amiable rebel who can't stand authority figures. He's a man who has to do everything on his own, much to the displeasure of his superior officer, who in turn thinks this cop is a loose cannon but tolerates him because he gets the job done. Directed by Brett Ratner, Rush Hour doesn't break any new ground in terms of story, stunts, or direction. It rehashes just about every "buddy" movie ever made--in fact, it makes films such as Tango and Cash seem utterly original and clever by comparison. So, why did this uninspired movie make over $120 million at the box office? Was the whole world suffering from temporary insanity? Hardly. The explanation for the success of Rush Hour is quite simple: chemistry. The casting of veteran action maestro Jackie Chan with the charming and often hilarious Chris Tucker was a serendipitous stroke of genius. Fans of Jackie Chan may be slightly disappointed by the lack of action set pieces that emphasize his kung-fu craft. On the other hand, those who know the history of this seasoned Hong Kong actor will be able to appreciate that Rush Hour was the mainstream breakthrough that Chan had deserved for years. Coupled with the charismatic scene-stealer Tucker, Chan gets to flex his comic muscles to great effect. From their first scenes together to the trademark Chan outtakes during the end credits, their ability to play off of one another is a joy to behold, and this mischievous interaction is what saves the film from slipping into the depths of pitiful mediocrity.

I absolutely love this movie. It is so very funny. The two main chacters are perfect in their roles. They are indeed wonderful actors. I've purchased all the Rush Hour series. I am anxious to see them. I know I will not be disappointed.

I ordered this movie for my 7 y.old daughter who attends karate klaus twice a week to spark her motivation. I never got the movie. I contacted the seller he responded with the delivery confirmation number. I dont know what to write for the feedback - I never got the movie . he got my money.....

Jackie Chan, is the Master of action movie stunts, and performs all of his own, without the aid of a double. Which is why, he has, more broken bones, than Evil Knievel. But a movie that is action packed, stunt filled, laugh out loud, and throw in a crazy style of a movie plot, catagory type of story line. Watch it and you will watch it again and again. This movie was funny, had action and drama. Was worth the price of seeing it. It stars Chris Rock as a LAPD and Jackie Chan as a Hong Kong police detective assigned to retrieve the Hong Kong embassador's daughter. The movie starts with the daughter getting kidnapped then the embassador has his friend fly in to help with the search. Enters Chris Rock's character who wants to work for the FBI. He is assigned to guard the HK detective, thus starts all the high jinks, drama, and comedy. Well worth it!

since im a huge fan of rush hours i had to get this for my personal collection, it was worth evvery dime, its so funny when chris and jackie get together you know it will be not only funny but action packed as well, i cant find a flaw in this movie at all AAAA++++++ awsome action and comedy

I like this movie alot. I had Rush hour 2 on dvd and not the first one, so I went ahead and bought it, so I would have both on dvd. It is action packed and funny. I can't wait until Rush Hour 3 comes out on dvd. I will be buying that also.
